Fallout Tactics Perk Question...

Post » Fri May 08, 2009 9:43 pm

I've been a seasoned player of the Fallout Series, I personally found Fallout 3 to be a little... Perhaps, tedious, would be the most suiting term. However, that is not the purpose of my posting this thread...

In the Manual for Fallout Tactics there are two perks: Bend the Rules, and Break the Rules... Their requirements are a LK: 6 and Level Sixteen (16) and twenty (20) respectively. Though, as to my bewilderment, neither of the two perks appear to be accessible.

I was wondering if it perhaps was a bug? Or if in other regards if there is a repair to make those two perks accessible. DEFCON 5? Boring...
DEFCON 4? Those radars up yet?
DEFCON 3? Ready the ships!
DEFCON 2? Scramble the bombers!
DEFCON 1? Little Red Button...

I tried to do some research for you on this matter, but since I have installed Windows 7 RC and not yet Fallout Tactics, my saved games have been scrapped (so couldn't check it in the actual game). From what I'm getting though and Chris can tell more but I believe these perks are not in the game.

I read somewhere that they were scrapped pre-release. Then when looking up a walk through guide they mention it under the perks but question its existence in the game as well. So if you have the requirements but yet still didn't get the perk then mostly like it was an idea to have them but later taken away. It would seem that with having these perks a player could make a character to be extremely powerful very early in the game. This is possibly why they were scrapped. That is if they where.

Sorry I couldn't give you a definite answer but Chris I'm sure will enlighten us soon. Image
I told the Overseer of Vault 13 I'd give everything to save everyone, and so I did, I saved them all. Since then I've felt loneliness.

Enlightenment is overrated. ^_^

I can't remember for sure, but I think those perks never did work right and they were removed at the last moment. There might be something in the readme, but I'm traveling today and don't have access to the game to check.

Yes, these perks are broken and unavailable to the player. The Vault - Fallout Wiki * Fallout Online * Fallout IRC Channel * Fallout: New Vegas
