Fallout Online - What I/We expect

Post » Sun May 10, 2009 9:25 am

1st to Dev's PLS DO NOT realse unfinish product, i know .. Time is mana(money) but look on some "realse" title who die in 1st 3 month.

Soo lets start:

#1. Character class/role/race?

I think the good idea will be "specialization".

All start with same skill and in time player can decide what thay want. Every spec should have some uniq skill not able to other spec

*heal - bonus to stimpacks/medpack use/skill to buff party members in battlefield. Uniq - body improvments like implants
*trader - bonus to trade better prize/more sloots/. Uniq - access to trade caravans - can transport loot of stuff
*crafter - bonus to craft items. Uniq - Research - Scientific research (plans for items/hi tech creation)
- Historical research ( able to use old map - military base/ect.)
*enginer/geologist - able to build big complex like city/mines/ect. Uniq - able to find deposits of materials like coal/iron ect.

Race :

*ghouls - good in crafts/tech
*mutants - good str/weapon
*humans - good in race relations/universal (but dont have +bonus)

#2. LvL?/Skill train? :

I think best option is skill training. Mixed with class spec it could be nice way to create uniq character. After picking Heal spec playwer will unlock special skill only for that spec.

#3. World? :

I think must be huge ( in post nuclear world 100 peps in non city location will be strange :p)

#4. Environment/NPC city/NPC fraction/Player city? :

Npc City - like in all fallout
Npc fraction - BoS/Enclave/Raiders - those npc should have not able to conquer by player teritory on map. Thay should control teritory with rare materials to craft.
Player city - Yes. I think player should have option to create your own city but ... it should be soo hard that onlly biggest guild/corp should be able to do it. And of there should be max limit for it. max 1-2 city per guild/corp

#5. PvP/solo/World/Guild vs Guild

In my opinion player need to fight for. Guild/corps should be able to cap some terriroty on map ( alasca - lot of petroleum/ect). Some of guild/corp tournament organized by BoS/Enclave/Raiders - with some uniq reward (tech/resources). I think war on teritory between corps/guild will be more fun than ganks 10v1.

Discus?

I expect to get what every other MMO out there is giving us, except here Orcs are called Super Mutants, elves are called Ghouls and magicians are called Psychers and the longsword is called a Jackhammer.

I hope to see something that takes on from FO2, mixed with the action of FO:T and fixing the game mechanic issues I think are present in the SPECIAL systems used in all gamesas games (levels, crappy skill systems and poor combat simulation). I hope to see dialogs with NPCs that amount to more than being given a wall of text no-one cares to read. I hope to see NPCs doing stuff I would expect them to, like plowing fields, guarding houses and shooting the crap out of radscorpions. I doubt I get what I hope.

Regarding humans as begin good at racial relations: in none of the previous fallout games have humans been at all nice to other intelligent species or races. There has been persecution of ghouls, super mutants and deathclaws en masse and only very few people have been sympathetic to these groups.

been very excited bout this game since i heard bout it, sadly i didn't play f1 or f2 though. my first f3 run i think i had over 300hours and on my second run now but as for what i expect in the online version is this, it be created as a rpg/mmo, want more then a shooter of some form with some content, specially if they thinking of charging monthly. i'm talking final fantasy14 meets the apolictic world, not global agenda or some crap.

also been thinking of all the things in fallout 3 that i would love to see in it, very first holograph and tape recordings would be awsome if all and every quest using these and can move and do things while listening to stuff in game. including long ones that were in the computers. downloads into pips. i loved how i can listen to it and still be playing, but they were short so meh and still had to read the long stuff.

lots of music from rewards in game and quests, rare songs to win, perhaps can share and sell them or something too.

a world just like in fallout 3 where all our interactions will effect the game would be sweet.

guess that's it for now but really this only game i looking forward to seeing and playing besides ffxiv so it better be good. rpg/mmo lots of content, missions, story, party battles in pve and pvp. great pip stuff and vat moves.

i dont know, i dont agree with you

sorry for my english, im from argentina, so. . .

i think that gamesas would do mmorpg using features from fallouts that THEY created, like, fallout 1, 2 and tactics
i would like a FALLOUT 2 MULTIPLAYER, i been thinking about that since the game was released, it would be awesome
think about it, do you want a mmorpg just the same as everyone?
i expect a new idea for mmorpgs, i new face, something clever, new, exciting, surprising, not expected

i expect that the game will look like fallout 2 (graphics and gameplay)
dont you guys imagine a fallout mmorpg turns base game?

no i agree i want something different and set aside from all other mmo's but i don't want a shooter with some addition to it that makes it something they can charge a monthly for. i am saying i want it as good if not better then the best rpgmmo's out there.

turn base sounds like what i want and with the vat system sounds perfect for it, kinda like ffxi if anyone has played it, but yes that and way beyond. quess i'm hoping this game revolutionizes mmo's a bit lol. no shooter will take rpgmmo'ers away for long even with some pve that makes them feel like it can now be charged a monthly.

i wish i have played fallout1 an 2 i may have to go find a copy to play them.

also from the quote u used, what i meant by world like fallout 3 is that i want our actions to take presidence in the world, if i kill some guy out in the world it should effect me especially and the world just like the offline games. watched e3 last week and theres game u can do stuff like have six and do many things like are like real world like in the game, these things also seem fitting for the post appocoliptic world, specially if anything similar to the latest game, they do got prosttutes in it lolol.

Never said it was a good basis for a world, but that's pretty much what FO3 is to me (except that the long sword is any rifle in the game and not the jackhammer). FO3 svcks in that respect.

Hello gamers! Fallout Online? Oh yes please! Ever since I became savagely hooked on Fallout 2 and then again with Fallout 3, I've wanted a MMO in this universe! The excitement is overwhelming, as well as ideas.

I'd like to see a 3D world, although I'd be happy with a top down view.. Everything we've all killed in the wastelands for enemies for sure. Vaults! Incorporated as dungeons, or even as player homes or guild housing! Instanced would be fine. We want a massive environment! Similar to LOTRO but even larger with seamless transitions.. This is important to keep the torched landscape look and feel barren and not chop it up into smaller zones! If anything I'd expect to have to walk or ride a long distance, it doesn't mean the path needs to be empty! Faction towns, merchant stops, hidden quests and dungeons.. NPC's should be frequent and hopefully dynamic with some audio dialogue.

I think the majority of Fallout fans would love to see a storyline or history surrounding our characters as well as the inhabitants left in the world. Even books, sound clips similar to Bioshock to be discovered and collected or used. Definitely implement names, locations and tales from the previous Fallout games for towns, vaults and when exploring. Pip-boy.. but this should be obviously included imo :D

As for fighting.. Turn based most likely and perhaps allowing for locational targeting damage? Weapons and weapon invention would be very nice and could easily be a part of a crafting aspect!

I'm tired otherwise I'd mention more, but the game is destined to be a killer MMO! I'm one excited Fallout fan right about now. :)

It would be cool to play different races. I hope they dont do specialty classes. fallout is about being versitile. Specialty classes would seem to me a cheap copy of all the other mmos and not like fallout.

When it comes to character creation i would make it the same as fallout 1 and 2 with the addition of some/many new skills and perks. No classes are needed when every character will be different in his own way because of the huge amount of skills and perks.

This game and universe is far to good art-wise to let its mmo become a new WoW. It was innovative when it came out a long time ago,why cant it be innovative now with the respect for tradition?
