The game says that it reads plenty of ram, but in the same message says i dont have enough to run. There's a similar post about fs2, does the same solution apply here? If so, does anyone have a link for a patch?

The original game could only support 2gig of ram. After that it starts counting backwards so by the time to you get to 4 you are at 0 again. You should go grab FS2_Open. 3.6.12 was just released and this problem was fixed a couple of years ago. http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=70692.0
