Please bring Planescape: Torment to steam

Post » Sun May 17, 2009 6:23 am

I want to thank gamesas for bringing the wonderful fallout series to steam so many people who have never played it can enjoy it for the first time and others like myself can play it again whenever we want. I bought it and love it, thank you.

Now, with that said, can we get Planescape: torment on steam next? This is another big one that I know I and many people really want. Keep up the good work!

We appreciate the nice comments!

Sadly, as much as I would personally like to see Planescape: Torment widely available (it's a terrific RPG, certainly the best written game I've ever played), it is not meant to be. gamesas no longer has the rights to release AD&D titles, including Torment, and we can't re-release the game on any platform.

Truly a shame!

That's a good question. I don't know details, but I would imagine that the rights are a little tricky (with all the different companies involved).

I'd say the likelihood is low.

Actually, as far as I know, the rights are with Atari, which has the rights to re-release it. Atari has actually licensed a new retail edition in Poland to CD Projekt, and I wouldn't be surprised if gamesas's old D&D games ended up on CD Projekt's GOG.com.

Atari has also recently re-released Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale games, and they can be bought from Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Baldurs-Gate-4-1-Boxset-PC/dp/B000FGA1US/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1250983659&sr=8-1

Maybe they'll re-release PS:T eventually as well? The Vault - Fallout Wiki * Fallout Online * Fallout IRC Channel * Fallout: New Vegas
