please making this a harsh world to live in

the one thing i loved about the fallout games (especially fallout 3 which i know you guys didnt make) was how open and harsh the world was.

I want to get this type of feeling from the online game as well. I would like to see a harsh world where only the strong or most cunning survive. I understand the casual gamer is very prominent and they need their hand held through most MMO, but please limit this hand hold in Fallout online.

no quest markers over NPCs
no guided tours of the Points of interest
no easy death penalty
need a skill in order to figure out what a mob cons to you.
(read the FAQ about PVP so wont even go there even though i must say im already disappointed)

Fallout .. no matter who made it has always been about an extremely harsh open ended world. please let the MMO follow suit.

Fallout 1 and 2 weren't really that harsh considering that you could save as much as you wanted. Online games are by their nature less forgiving.

that's not a bad idea... but! there's always new players that dont know how everything works and need that dumbed down WoW'ness to get into the game. however your idea could easily be solved with other type of servers with something like a hardcoe mode In gaming terms... Life's a die, then you bich.

I don′t see how the OP listed things makes the game any harsher, if anything it just makes it more busywork and I don′t see how making stuff more busywork adds to a grity, harsh feel.

better to achieve that harshness by things like ammo scarceness, enemy difficulty and other such things

harsh? maybe... after a certain point that you have enough ammo (which seem to grow on trees) both seem to be to easy but i dont recall in FO3 much that i couldnt kill unlike the predecessors and the endless random spawns was extremely annoying after some time.

besides somehow harsh desolate wasteland and hords of everything on every corner and under every rock with platoons of troops in a city size area plaguing each building compared is not exactly settles in my mind.

The world should be harsh enough to make botting superfluous.

I rather see more brawling / melee PVP than have everyone spew off bullets like they're as common as dust specks.

Just my two cents.

dont forget that fallout 3 was just extremely easy if you look at the combat :P BUT CHRIS DONT WANT US TO TALK DIRTY ABOUT OTHER GAMES SO! I did like f3 anyway, it was fun running around killing stuff in slowmo, watching their limbs fly off. Image
