Player Vs Player Dialog

One of my favorite parts about Fallout was the NPC dialog. It was the dynamic of what you could say to an NPC and how they would respond.

I think there should be a player VS player dialog option. Lets say there are 6 options of things you can say to a player, he can reply with one of 6 options, you reply with a different set of 6, etc.. etc...

"Hey Stranger want to tag along for a cut of the action?"
A)50/50 Split, sure
B)60/40 sounds about right
C)Sorry, but I think that going with you will get me killed
D)No, but I know a leprechaun that would go with you
E)Taste the pain!! [Attack]

i think regular chat would be better for player vs player interaction tbh.. imagine how slow the conversation would be otherwise.. In gaming terms... Life's a die, then you bich.

It would be nice with a properly working player to player\party\gang chat window (like your own chatroom  ) instead of mixing it into the world chat as most games do..

Maybe I should clarify that this isn't a system to replace chat, but rather a Dialog styled command menu:

Often in MMO's you enter into social contracts with other players; You form groups, guilds, friends, enemys, and you trade with these people. Why not add another layer of depth to these Player Interactions. One aspect would be that you can't kill each other while in dialog, so in one aspect its a stalling technique; I for one enjoy knowing my enemy before we fight. Maybe I don't want to kill a person but merely rob them of thier possessions.

Maybe take it to a whole new level and make a sub-game with the dialog. Like give a bunch of NPC's different pieces of information to a central story; as a player collects that information, he can share that information with other players, or he could distort the information as he passes it along (maybe NPC's pay you for lying for them, who knows)

Maybe I tell someone that if they bring me X ammount of X items, that I will pay them with X reward, and have that be a binding contract.

it surly sound cool on paper but it simply don′t seam worth the fuzz when your normal text or oral chat covers all the bases on this front.

I think Grymm is up on something that sound like what the developers want to do. If they say there wil be restrictions on the PVP, maybe through the diolog or something like that, at least in the towns and other safe areas.
