What Perspective Is this game going to be in?

Post » Thu May 21, 2009 7:34 pm

Sorry if there's another thread or if this question was already answered, but has it been confirmed that this game is turn-based, or is it in first/third person? Just curious :) Image

There have been another thread that took up this topic and the only answer chris gave was
What will the viewpoint be? 1st person or 3rd person?

It will be 2nd person. ^_^

Second person? What is that??? Sounds shiny...

It was a joke. Really. ^_^

so far we don′t know, early mock up "screenshots" of the game suggests there looking at 3rd person, now whether it be the standard mmo of "you click to move your character and to select enemies" we seen from WOW untill forever or a more action toned TPS is to be seen in the future (crossing my finger it′s the later)

i think that since the engine they are using (same one earthrise do) its will be a third person.
just google earthrise gameplay and imagine it in FO setting.

Just because earthrise is from that view it doesnt mean that fallout online is :)

Just look at this half life 2 mod you could think its a new game :P

What I'm saying is that nothing is set until they personally announce it or show some ingame content. Image

qft. all is speculation.

/fall into solipsism "What would your good do if evil didn't exist, and what would the earth look like if all the shadows disappeared?"

Let's hope it's a more TPS type system. The Dungeons & Dragons style combat systems that most MMOs are still using is on it's last legs (and has been for years).

It's time to move on in my opinion, and this is a perfect opportunity to do that.

agreed, especially for a MMO taking place in a more modern age where guns are more present.

I hope they'll allow for multiple viewpoints.

I personally hate playing shooters in third-person or over-the-shoulder. Those are fit for fantasy RPGs.

what an amazing idea, a mechanic that fit an RPG for a mmoRPG

Mor, was just a personal opinion / viewpoint. I like a little realism in the games I play.

Personally I don't really care what perspective the game will be in.
I'm more worried about the fighting system..
Will it be either:

"Click and your character will fight automatically" aka "The tears of boredom" style of combat..

or more like a real shooter?..

I hope with all my heart that it will be the last..

I could see this working best as 3rd person... Due to the fact that players are going to be doing so much around you, if you were in 1st person, you would miss a lot of the action going on. Like someone trying to pickpocket you.
