FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

gamesas AND MASTHEAD STUDIOS TO JOINTLY DEVELOP MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ONLINE GAME
BEVERLY HILLS, CA, April 2, 2009 – gamesas Entertainment Corp. (OTC BB:IPLY) announced today that the company has signed a binding letter of intent with Masthead Studios to fund the development of a Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG), code named “Project: V13.”

The game has been in design and development at gamesas since November 2007. Masthead and gamesas teams will work together under the direction and control of gamesas to complete development of the project.

As a part of the agreement, the game will utilize Masthead’s proprietary tools and MMOG technology developed for Masthead’s “Earthrise” project.

Commenting on the announcement, gamesas Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Herve Caen said, “We are looking forward to turning the vision of our game designers into a compelling online gaming experience. The planning and design completed for Project: V13 thus far, combined with Masthead’s resources, tools, and growing team of dedicated MMOG developers, will bring this unique game to reality.”

Masthead Studios President Atanas Atanasov said, “This arrangement is ideal because it leverages the technology our professionals have specifically built for advanced Massively Multiplayer Online Games into what we expect will be a groundbreaking gamesas gaming title.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Wonder if they're going to work on V13 after Earthrise, or whether they'll rework Eathrise into Fallout Online. The Vault - Fallout Wiki * Fallout Online * Fallout IRC Channel * Fallout: New Vegas

So I'm just wondering if this means that the Fallout MMOG is a reality, or will this just be a more generic post-apocalyptic game... if we don't know already, when do you think we'll know? :?:

Whatever the case, I'm sure it will be good. Sign me up for beta too! :)

One would say April 4th, but that's not true, I don't think either Bethesda or gamesas are under any obligation to reveal who has the license when the original deal's deadline expires.

I would then say gamesas's next 10-Q, but since it's actually not part of the quarter they're reporting on they probably won't have to do it then either.

So logic then dictates: if the deal falls through and FOOL fails, we won't hear anything. If this rescues the deal (by, for instance, a little legal loophole by which Masthead "invests" 30 million in gamesas's project), then gamesas would have no reason to keep a lid on it, and would likely announce the title soon after the 4th.

Well, just spotted that:

http://defonten.cgsociety.org/gallery/746680/

"It was done for a project codenamed V13, which, as many surmise, is possibly the future Fallout Online MMORPG."

So, yeah, thats about it :D

While I agree that it would not be an obligation of either of them, I'd say that it would be in the interest of Bethesda to announce it if the FOOL license went back to them. The Vault - Fallout Wiki * Fallout Online * Fallout IRC Channel * Fallout: New Vegas

Hi!

We are still very far away from needing testers, but this forum will be the place to hear the news when we ask for testing volunteers.

The number of languages have not been decided, yet. It will depend on the needs of our international distributors and partners.

Well this is wonderful news. I will now flex my ego and boast that about 90% of the directions that was saying what gamesas should be doing. Well did pretty much happen. Of course I don't think it was me that they were listening to. I'm more saying that if they want to pull this off here are the smart things I would do in their position.

The only thing I didn't get was using another MMO company to assist in funding the 30m on paper and developement. I was pretty sure they would use another MMO engine. I'm also pretty happy from what I'm reading about the MMO engine. It's an awesome path. While Earthrise is out and being fixed of bugs, FOOl get's to also recieve those bug fixes. So when FOOL releases the number of bugs and problems will be smoothed out a whole lot.

Market based economy, check
free crafting, check
meaningful PvP, check
vehicles, check, we will see if this appears in FOOL.
offline advancement, check half. I was predicting all skills. This could change with FOOL though.
game play for both casual and hardcoe, check

I'm pretty happy with the direction FOOL is going. Does anybody realize that since FOOL is based on ER that FOOL is far closer to complete than imagined. I don't know when FOOL will be released, but considering that it will need only smaller changes and a graphics overhaul it's mostly their. If they rushed it they could probably release at the end of the year. Though I suspect they will release it when they need the extra income or when they feel it's time to release.

This is awesome news over all.

Why? They're privately held so they have no interest in putting it out to appease stock-holders, and it doesn't fit their MO to put out any info that doesn't immediately benefit them.

Well, they might think that gamesas having any rights to Fallout is "damaging" what is now their franchise. The Vault - Fallout Wiki * Fallout Online * Fallout IRC Channel * Fallout: New Vegas

Not really all this is going to do is is spark more interest in FO3 and it's DLC. Then it's FO4 will be riding higher with FOOL being about to release. Also keep in mind that Betheseda get's money from this FOOL.

Yes, but they'd get even more money from a ZeniMax Online FOOL. The Vault - Fallout Wiki * Fallout Online * Fallout IRC Channel * Fallout: New Vegas
