how should be the concept of Factions?

For my opinion, i am sad to have games where you can be member of every fraction or simple bad / good decides.

If you will be member (or known member) of the slavery guild you should be atomatically a enemy of some other, for sure.

But for example :

If you decide to be a member of New Reno you should be become a enemy of Vault city by arriving a level in New Reno (for example : well known). Before nobody in Vault city will care about you.

To be a member of fractions should have some benefit that you only get at this fraction.
Games where everybody can get all are boring !

Should the Game have fractions in the towns or organisations ?
So you have to be carefully that you choose because you will not get member of a enemy fraction !

Should you have the chance of a betrayer Quest to change ONE TIME between two enemy fractions. (one time for every single enmity)

Should long Questline's ore epic Quest's open the highest ranks of fractions or just (boring) farming ?


What did you thing of this elemental part in mmorpg's ?

(i do not know how to open a voting about that but i think it will be great and interisting to have one, to see what the people will think about that) Excuse me, if my english is not so well like it should be. I am German and not so well trained in english

before I say anything else: its not called fractions, its Factions

Now, I agree that when you join a faction like raiders, VC, NCR (just example of towns) and others will be hostile to you, if you join VC, ncr will be neutral, raiders hostile etc etc

Ditching a faction and joining another should also give some penalty because you don't want people joining other factions then jumping back just because then needed something from the other. So like if you ditch one faction they will become somewhere between neutral/hated for you, they wont attack you but they wont like you either :P And the reputation amongst other "good" factions will drop as well, the hostile factions will like you just a bit more but just so much that they wont attack you.

And to build up your reputation once again you must do quest for the different factions ^^ thats my idea at least. Image

I like your idea with droping down the reputation of other factions and rebuilding it by special Quests Excuse me, if my english is not so well like it should be. I am German and not so well trained in english

There is an idea not to stuck on reputation and go further. For example, joining to a raiders or slavers requires such an action, that will turn half of wastelands against you. Not just because you are with raiders, but because of your actions. Excuse my bad English... I am a Russian bear, it's hard to type with claws.
