although i did enjoy kingpin 1..... kingpin 2 would be cool but does not sound feasible. The first game did not gain a strong recognition, so why would gamesas produce a sequel to a game that wasn't super huge in the first place? Fallout/Descent or someting along those lines seems much more ideal....

Althought I do agree Kingpin did not gain strong recognition, it is truly the father of all games "Hood" (I.E. GTA/Mafia/Max Payne/Scarface). That having been said, I think recreating the game with an updated engine WOULD be IDEAL and would also allow a new generation of gamers to experience the world that is Kingpin.

Kingpin, if it were recreated and rereleased in todays market, would do far better than the first time around. Unfortunately for the first, it was released around the time the Columbine shootings occurred and major retailers (I.E. Walmart/K-mart/Target) stopped carrying violent titles for some time.

Kingpin also had so much replay value. The game was truly a social experience, as well as a gaming experience. The game had it all. Teamplay (TDM, BM) and singles competition (DM, and 1on1). The game just was not given a push, and as such, never gained a huge following like Counterstrike, which is unfortunate.

If a sequel to the game never comes to, so be it, life will go on. But if they re-release or do something with the license, WOW!! would the KP community come out of the woodwork! That being said, KP was truly a diamond in the rough and I am glad I got the chance to experience it and its community. Many games have come and gone for me, but it was KP that had me truly glued to the computer for hours upon hours still wanting to play.

Ten years have gone by, maybe its time to breath new life onto Kingpin! gamesas almost had a sequel started in 2004, but then it was cancelled. gamesas, as the saying goes: "Better late than never!"....make it happen!

One of my friends started that petition many moons ago and it's now be signed by over 7,000 people :)

It is 10 years since the release back in June 30th 1999 and we plan to celebrate the occassion in our servers and hope anyone who reads this who has Kingpin can join in as well.
We plan to make it a four day weekend starting on Saturday the 28th and culminating on Tuesday 30th the actual release date.
Hopefully current and ex-KPers can find some time and help make this weekend a success :D

Anyone interested can get more info from Kingpinforver - http://poisonville.net/

I agree. As well as the great gameplay, it was the community that made Kingpin truly great. For me, no game since has come close to recreating the special atmosphere that Kingpin had. If a sequel was to be released, even after this time, I'm sure the majority of old-timers would be back in a flash for another taste, along with the newcomers getting their first taste of Kingpin.

I'll admit I like Kingpin and I would buy a sequel should it ever be released. But I personally would prefer another title in the Redneck Rampage series, or a Messiah sequel.

First of all im very sleepy and i typed my name wrong LOL

Its PeachesKPF... formerly SWEx420GiRL

It has been many years that we have been begging for a sequel. Why not give us what we want already? Kingpin didn't get the recognition it should have because it was pulled off the shelves before it could become a known game. The players that did buy the game, played hardcoe. And kingpin has the most loyal and determined fans ive ever seen. Just look at all the maps/mods that have been created for a game that came with like 5 maps and a shit engine. Look at the people that are still hosting servers.. Or look at us at http://www.kpforum.net, We are still hanging strong looking for a game to fill the hole kp left when it died out lol.
So yesterday, valve started selling kingpin but you cant browse servers through steam for some reason.. Will this be fixed? And if we were to get a large community playing again would this help our chances of getting a kp2? Whats it gonna take gamesas???

anybody else.. come say hi to us :D

As much as I'd like to see a new Kingpin, having a Kingpin 2 without Xatrix (whom split into two to make Gray Matter, but even that company split into two to make Treyarch so it's even more disbanded now) would be really weird and awkward.

It'd be like having Fallout without Chris over here. :?
