Love Starfleet Academy. Still play & replay it regularly. Went through hell to get it to play on XP, but well worth it. The long, tedious training mission svcks, & having to repeat it though, if you mess-up.
I am still holding out hope and waiting for The Secret of Vulcan Fury (cartoon-animated-like game, with orange-skinned Edoans in it, I think). This would be a cool place to
Tribal Dreams co-owned it or sometging or was doing the development/code-writing. Someone out there has to have some unfinished code for sale. Maybe, if we could convince George Takai (Sulu) and William Shatner (he should have some dough to invest?), maybe we could get the ball rolling on it.
This was my first gamesas game, and i have been hooked ever since. I am installing Giants for the first time tonight to play, but i have never seen a bad game from them. (I could't quite get the hang of or patience for BG though , so i guess i need a walk-through for that). An that add-on, CLM/ Checkov's Lost Missions has reeeeealy long missions , with the time needed to get between planets in a system.
If i see gamesas, i snatch it up with confidence. If it says DreamCatcher, i run 4 the hills-- a name synonomous with drink-coaster or let-down.
I was excited when i saw them back up. It's a glimmer of hope for that animated star trek game i want made. I sure someone overseas could work on it, at an affordable rate, Asia or Czeck Republic. We need to hurry B4 any more of the original cast die besides James Doohan {Scotty). It would be sooo cool if they added in the the cat-like Catian alien, with black, short fur, a purr, a tail and big yellow eyes, a character from the animated adventures, named M'Ress. Uhura could do her voice.
I need to find out who to beg for this to happen. Maybe bad robot. They have some game experience and are doing the special effects for the 2009 star trek movie.
As for tribal Dreams who began the game w./ gamesas 1998, the pair also released the game "Of Light and Darkness: The Prophecy" for Win9x/2000.
I-play also made critically-acclaimed Freespace, which souns like a game i dreamed of , literally, as a kid-- something like flying around outside of the massive batttlestar galactica. Snubbed by the P3 requirement after install, i uninstalled & have to put it on my P III pc [800MHz+ processor needed].
I have yet to play Bethesda's multi-era ST release, but ST-BC [bridge commander] was a HUGE let-down. I immediately uninstalled it , making plans how to resell it. I lost faith in Atari, as did Paramount (bethesda owns ST game rights now). ST-EF was cool, very much so but ST-EF2 was such another let-down by them, an unplayable way-to-hard disaster.
One last thing: does anyone know an easy way to invest in the company without paying 10.00 per transaction/trade to buy their stock?
