A Question regarding signup

Post » Mon Jun 08, 2009 6:57 am

On the website http://www.fallout-on-line.com you can register for possible beta tests and newsletters.

I didn't get a confirmation e-mail n such so i assumed it didnt work the first time.

So i tried 3 more times, tell me, are we suppose to get confirmation emails or just wait for updates?

There is no confirmation email. If you get the Thank You, you're in the database.

The first mail to the list will be Coming Soon. We'll announce that here. If you don't get it, check your spam folder settings. If that's not there, your registration isn't in the database or your email is wrong. ^_^

Could we get the email address, or at least the server name that the email will come from so we can add it to our contact lists and avoid the spam filter issue?

I would assume something@gamesas.com, but being prior military I really hate assuming anything.

Thanks!

That's an excellent question. I'll find out.

And thank you for your service.

EDIT: It's going to be something@fallout-on-line.com, but the exact something is still TBD. I have been told the tentative name, but it might change...

Wow, don't see that on forums much. Thank you Chris. Thanks also for the info. I'll add @fallout-on-line.com to my message filters.

Sgt Craig, I was also a sarge, in the Army Reserve, 244th PsyOps Company, and during Desert Storm (1991) I was attached to the 3rd Armored Cavalry.

No. Just signing up does not guarantee a beta slot. There will be follow-up questions and forms to help determine if/when people are added to the beta. The checkbox is to see if you are interested in the beta program. Not everyone has checked it, but the vast majority have.

To be very honest, we've gotten way more people signing up much faster than we anticipated. That's causing us to rethink a few things regarding the beta.

I think 2012 has been floating around in terms of a potential beta period but this was an old estimate pre site going live.

Hehe. :)

Can we ask for the number you thought to get at this point for the sign ups? :)

I really think that there is a lot of peopple that have waited for this game to come out the past 10 years or so. Like me for instance. :P So what were you thinking about? Well I'm just kidding here. ;)

If the Mayans were on the mark, we'll be playing Fallout the MMRLRPG.

Start enrolling specific hardware in groups. Get the kinks ironed out for hardware specs then move on to user focus groups. I'm an ecommerce consultant with our software company and we develop first for operating systems and script language versions. Then, move on towards focus groups in specific professions for usability studies. FA3 had a tendency to crash on my machine. Consider using reporting agents like Mozilla and Microsoft do and compile beta crash reports to further rapidly identify hardware conflicts.

Id rather PLAY Fallout MMO before I have to Live it.

That's pretty common. Choosing testers by their system setup first. The first small wave checks for compatibility. The Waves after the first one have mostly alot more work. Not only testing the "How does it work with my setup", also bughunting, stresstests, and maybe in a later state (if this happens) the translation of the game itself. Hopefully gamesas accepts the hints/ideas/workarounds from testers. I already learned not every company does. Why there was an alpha/beta is still a riddle for me .

I think Fallout 3 crashed on nearly every system from time to time. But that's an old problem of bethesdas engine. Due the fact that gamesas uses a different engine (as far as I read), this problem has a 50:50 chance not to occur.

Nearly time to drop of to work...already 4 am in the morning
