Stone keep

In the "Gate Of The Ancients" level in stonekeep, when you get to the center and find the dead guardians armor, weapons and bones pick up his sword while standing on the pressure plate and throw against the wall so it bounces back to the square your in.

It sounds like it hit a pile of mush.

Drake Then says "What was that?". I also moved back so I was just 1 square away, but still facing the pressure plate and nothing is there except for the presure plate and the broken sword. I threw the sword as low as a could.

Again It sounds like it hit a pile of mush.

Another cool thing about this is when you use your heal rune where the invisible pile of mush is, You actually see the sparkles from the heal rune. This also works where the armor and the bones are, just to the right of the pressure plate. If you try to use the heal rune anywhere else, the sparkles don't show up. No I didn't run out of Mana when I tried it.

Something about this is kinda pi$$ing me off. I smashed the bones and then did all the above.

What I think is that If i had not smashed the bones and tried the healing rune and all that stuff, mabey something would have happend, but I also think you have to leave the armor and the sword alone to. It svcks because to get back there before I smashed his bones, I have to go through the fairy realm and the ice caverns again because I didn't save it till then.

I haven't tried throwing anything else at the Invisble pile of mush, but I'm sure the sound would still be there.

I think it would be really cool if you could some how revive the dead guardian.

Any suggestions?

It's been too long for me to remember exactly what was going on there, but we put plenty of red herrings in Stonekeep... This _might_ be one of them.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_herring_(idiom)

Basically, there are things in there that are meant to distract the player.

oh. Well I'm gonna try to get back there and experiment a bit. Perhaps it is a "red herring", but it is still a very interesting thing. I'm sure that no one has found every secret in stonekeep. If there are more things like when you get the super dagger on the first level ( How the hell did anyone figure that out? ), there must be more things like that throughout stonekeep. I'm sure that all the strategy guides do not have all the secrets yet.

Well,Thanks for helping! ;)

Wait a minute..... I found another One! YEY! more fustration...... There is no pressure plate or invisible pile of mush, but its a pile of bones with a throg rune caster (broken) and red shaman feathers.

The healing thing doesn't work here. ( I finaly got to try it, yey! ) so im guessing it wont work where the guardian is.

I also found what looked like a dead dwarf-Bones dwarf weapons and dwarf armor and I tried it there to and nothing.

Chris I need some help-anything!even a hint would suffice. It's driving me nuts! I cant live with
" This_might_be one of them" anymore! I need something else! PLEASE!

No clue, sorry.

What level is this on? I'll see if I can find my old design docs and look it up.

Its all on the gate of the ancients and the pits. The heal thing seems to work on any pile of bones that are in the gate of the ancients or the pits, but not on any other level.

If you could give some advice it would help alot!

It's a red herring. I'm sure of it, because I've tried many, many things in dungeons (even those absolutely stupid or surrealistic).
But, maybe you have some answers for these questions: http://gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=739 . Image

Hey Chris, ( been forever right? ) have you managed to look up the old documents of doom for the level?

No... My old design docs are succumbed to the ages. I had a 3.5" diskette with the files, but it won't read. It's dead, Jim.
