New fallout back to roots?

Post » Sat Jun 13, 2009 5:51 pm

Have you guys ever considered making a new fallout game in the same format as fallout 1 and 2? I loved the turn based RPG gameplay it was always my favorite type of game but they are not really making them anymore.

I think allot of people would enjoy playing a new fallout that is back to the roots of the original 2 fallout's which were probably most peoples favorites I would assume except younger members who might like the newer ones more on the count of better graphics etc.

Even to build a new game on the old fallout 2 engine would be awesome to have a new adventure and stuff to do in the old game the wackiness and darkness of the first 2 games was great and how unforgiving the game was as well.

We don't have the rights to make a single-player game in the same format as Fallout 1 and 2. We can only make the massively-multiplayer version.

We are trying to keep the spirit of FO1/2. We think those were great games, and we want to bring the things that made them great into the MMO arena.

Seems like the world has moved pretty far away from turn based games. While I love Fallout 1&2 more than is probably legal in the US, I think it would need a pretty radical redesign to sell any turn-based game that isn't a Real Time Strategy or similar game.

I think it would work out well, I know when fallout 3 was announced every was expecting it to be like the first two until it was announced it would be first person I think if it was announced that they were making another along those lines it would get allot of support. Too bad to hear that you don't have the rights to do so.

I think it will be hard to draw new fans in if you make it turned base. ( :( even tho they cant make anymore for single player)

of course the old fans of fallout will love it :D but these day's you rarely see a successful

turned base rpg (i could be wrong)

Thats really sad but at least can you conserve fallout 1 and 2 map type? cause when you try to find alien spaceship in fallout 3 you must spend like an hour walking aroung the wasteland...with map it was much easier

That broke my heart allright...Though ill be one of the first to subscribe i was really hoping for something else. When i started playing new vegas and had its radio turned off. When i entered an area and heared the music you heared when you entered Mariposa on the first one i shivered.

I like the old 2D style CRPGS.Those were the days. Most companies dont understand that its not a good think to change a series concept too much.Anyway i have rumbled enough.

Now iil drop an idea.We might say our goodbies to the vault dweller for ever but there can be salvation yet!Why not remake old school wasteland with a falloutish touch?
