BG:DA 2 Question

Post » Wed Jul 01, 2009 9:47 am

I know that there was a thread similar to this one on the page, but I was wondering if there were any plans to re-release Dark Alliance II on PS2 any time soon? It is pretty difficult to find. When I do buy it, I would like my money to go to you (gamesas) instead of some random seller, so I'm curious. Is there any chance for a reprint? I loved the first one.

Thanks for your time.

No chance of a reprint from us. We no longer have the rights to the Baldur's Gate games. I believe Atari is planning on putting out a new BG, but not sure if they will be doing a game like BGDA.

gamesas retains the rights to the Dark Alliance name and we can make new games in that style.

Hey Chris,

Did Snowblind hold the rights to the DA name for any period of time?

Hello -

I love this game. I like how each character has a side mission related to their race/class, what-have-you. I would even like to see a third installment - maybe we can figure out who this Pharoah with the sunbarge is? Hell, I work on that game for free. =)

My question is this:

Who is that lady in the jail cell in Luvia's Laboratory?? You open the door, she says, "It's too dangerous out there" or something to that effect. Now, I figured, well, maybe she will only come out if I kill all the monsters first, so I did, but no such luck. Then whenever you are on the way out (running through the toxic gas), she is gone ("She must have left"). I have everything in this game figured out, except this.

PLEASE HELP!!

Thanks,

Hey there.
I have played DAII a good many times and am fairly sure there is not a creature, hidden switch or loose stone I have not come into contact with. I believe that woman is just 'decoration' for the level. She isn't given a name or anything and she still concludes 'its too dangerous' even if you've killed everything on the floor. By all means prove me wrong if you think she has any significance but personally I think shes just a little bit of detail. I've been playing BG:DA2 for about a week, and just got to the trolls - I've figured out that I want to make a +3 weapon using the Grand Scimitar, have 4 each of Jade-poison, Jacinth-fire, and Rune Stones. When I go into the Workshop and click on "Upgrade", only the weapon and the Rune Stones are visible. Because I saved just prior to going to the trader, I didn't mind trying a few things - but nothing has worked. HELP!

Erm it must be a year or two since I played this game. My only advice would be try adding the rune stones, and then see if it becomes possible to add other things since you can't add gems to a weapon that doesn't have any rune stones. If that doesn't work, keep trying but you might have a glitch on your hands. 'Rest assured the world will know that Hapdazar Doomwing was a man of his word.' -Kharne, DAII

You must add the rune stone first, and then the options on what you can put into them become available. Good luck, if you have any questions email me and I would be happy to help you. Also check out the Gameplay and Spoilers section and you will find a secrets FAQ I posted. I hope that helps. Good Luck. Image

Who has the rights to BG:DA 2? Is it possible that the people that have the rights could reprint the game or not?
