I would give my left toe for a DA 3. Or information that they're making one. I'm seconding your request for more info. I've played both DA's as ALL characters including Drizzt and Artemis. I NEED MORE. :geek:

Please. It's something that my husband and I can team up together on and enjoy. You could market it that way and show a "different" team working together than just the typical fighting against each other... Please.

I agree one of favorite games of all times, and to be teased with the 3rd installment trailer, and waited, and waited....

That might be difficult. Unless they can wrangle a rights deal out of Atari for the space (they're the franchise rights holder for ANY D&D derived game titles right at the moment- something gamesas had and then lost as they got into their dire straights mode a long while back...). This is not to say it's not undoable- heh...I thought gamesas was deader than a doornail until recently.

Just don't hold your breath guys... ;)

Snowblind worked out a deal a couple years ago for the Dark Alliance name. If you want to knock on someones door, I would start there.

There is a clause in the licensing deal that says the DA name reverts back to gamesas after a certain period of time if no game is published.

Perversely, there's some linux-heads trying to get their foot in the door on some of Snowblind's IP that they wrested out of Crave's hands back last year. Let's see what comes of that- I wouldn't mind having some deal worked out with them to make the originals and a new one in that space.

Interesting. Does that mean they (Snowblind, failing that, gamesas) have rights to a part of the WotC franchise space? If so, they ought to take that shot and run with it. :D

I'm not sure if WotC is in play at all.

Here's the filing, have at it...

If i read that right (well, i was only looking for the bit Midwest said about the DA name reverting back to gamesas after a certain time) then clause 4(c) on page 3 of 18 of Ex-10 says that Snowblind had 54 months from the time of the contract to make a DA game. And the contract was made on the 19th of May 2006 as it says at the very top, and so that means Snowblind's time is up right? 19th of November 2008 was their deadline and so the DA name reverts back to gamesas now right?

Even if it doesnt (could someone please explain why if i read that wrong) then surely Snowblind and gamesas could do a joint production of the game? They worked together for Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance 1, so why not again?

There will likely be a DA3, but without the name "Baldur's Gate" attached. The Vault - Fallout Wiki * Fallout Online * Fallout IRC Channel * Fallout: New Vegas

I'm hoping if there will be a dark alliance 3 that they add online multiplayer co-op with up to 4 people, now that would be very cool, online and offline co-op play with new characters and a new storyline, I hope it comes true

If gamesas is looking for financial support to develop DA3, they should consider donations. Take a look at Barack Obama's campaign. I'd send in ten bucks, and if a lot of the other DA3 fans did the same (or more), they would have no problem developing the game.

Sick of getting my hopes up, I'm gonna prepare for the worst and hope for the best. gamesas will not release the third game in the series. They are too busy with the Fallout MMO (horrible idea) to bother. Besides with having to reaquire the license from Wizards of the Coast and getting either Snowblind or some of the talent back from Black Isle to create the game I doubt they are interested. Image

Hopefully after all the fallout mmog business something good will come. They really do have the potential to make something great. Why can't they realise it?
