possible AI fix

i was playing brink just now and it came to me custom ai
EX

AI name(milo) he was in my party

i was a medic so was he(he was retarted)
so I cam up with this
imagine this as a menu option

make a option in menu to map out how they act like
play defensive or argessive clickalbe option

tagtics
how they play.

priority
make him revive you before other ai or ai before you .

distance
he a medic if you want back up he'll stay close medium or free roam .

other example you play as a medic so you cant repair
have an option where they will complete the mission so you dont have to go to a class you have no skills in.

i think this would be an undisliked if put into a game i try come up with a pitcure for a better example

I like this idea. Red Faction II and Unreal Tournaments 1 and 2k4 let you customize the A.I.

The bots in this game I find are suprisingly good (considering they are bots), but sometimes they can be annoying or quirky, like you said, when they are
right beside you and not throwing a revive. But I guess that occurs because either they have no supplies, or they prioritise the team performance over the player's treatment.

The bots I find react more to the player's selection of the objective wheel and class. So if you are a primary objective required class (PORC) with the wheel set to completing the objective you will be revive as a priority, if your escorting you will be revived as a secondary priority, if your are captureing a command post, you will be revived based upon distance to reaching you, and the distance from other more important priotity classes.

I posted a more detailed entry in the "How random is brink AI" post, but essentially its if you play with the bot, and not expect them to play for you the player, then they should start to be more effective, and less dumb.
