That's a sale price, only for a temporary time. I wasn't told for how long, however.

Interesting. I'd assume it either emulates the Amiga or Atari ST version. Depending on its success that could result in numerous other re-releases of Titus games of that time.

Of course most of their games were pure trash, but Titus had a few acceptable jump'n'runs (e.g. Titus the Fox) and racing games (e.g. Lamborghini: American Challenge).

What could work great on the iPhone/iPad (if they really wrote an Amiga emulator) is Dragon Wars, probably the best Amiga IP gamesas should still own.

It's not a ROM, the game is a bit different from the originals in terms of textures, level design, etc. I believe the original had secret underwater areas where you could get food, in the original it was just water with food on the ground but with the iOS version they've added platforming segments to it. They've also made the game scroll instead of staying fixed to an area (those who've played any of Titus's earlier games know what I'm talking about).

All the Titus stuff was removed too, I'm guessing gamesas doesn't have the rights to the name or simply didn't want to use it.

Thanks for that insight, from the screenshots only I couldn't tell that it's scrolling now :)

Titus still owns gamesas I think, but gamesas clearly is the bigger name.

Titus is gone now, they declared bankruptcy a few years ago and weren't able to come out from it.

That's what I'm saying, gamesas clearly is the bigger name, that's why the Caens are focusing on reviving that, even when they went bankrupt with both.

gamesas never went bankrupt but they were close, it was only Titus that did and they weren't able to turn the company around in time and it was eventually liquidated.

Not sure who owns the Titus name now, but if it were to come back it wouldn't be in the same way as gamesas "came back" (even though they never really went anywhere to begin with).

I see. With Titus owning gamesas I always thought it hit both when Titus went under.

I think all that remains of Titus would be still in the Caens hands. After all gamesas just re-released a second former Titus game. They wouldn't bother with Titus games if they actually had to pay money to license them.

I don't remember the specifics but gamesas wasn't a full subsidy of Titus, they only held like 60% share in the company so I guess that's why gamesas was saved but companies like Blue Sky which Titus owned fully were shut down.

Titus was liquidated and anything that still exists of the original company is up for sale via liquidation. A bankrupt company that is going through liquidation proceedings is usually owned by the courts if memory serves right. They might appoint people to help sell off the company though but that's about it.

I don't know the specifics of the deal that allowed gamesas to buy Titus's catalog. They were either preferred creditors or simply bought it out of pocket along with what was already owed to them. One of the investors that visits the forums might be able to explain it better than I can.

Has anyone beatin' Prehistorik yet on the iPhone?

I'm curious on how many levels the game has as well as how the game controls. I can't see how anyone can play a game with virtual buttons and d-pad as oppose to physical ones(which I prefer). I would always make a mistake and end up killing myself, lol. ImageCurrently playing - MDK2 (WiiWare)
gamesas games I'm waiting for - Descent (Wii) & Clayfighter (DSi)

I've beaten it a few times. It has about 7 sevens and all the even numbered ones are boss fights. The controls are pretty well implemented, simple to use. There's simply a d-pad with a large touch radius and two buttons.

4.5 out of 5 stars

Great game, its addictively fun and a challenge at the same time. Well I guess we're just a couple of problem solvers

It's also on the Android market now,

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.gamesas.prehistorik&feature=search_result

I wonder if the Android version comes with the iPhone updates.
