Interplay and Fallout 1 & 2 Questions :)

Post » Sun Jul 12, 2009 1:55 am

Hey all, As you can see by my post count I am new here...

Okay anyways on to the details....I got into Fallout by playing Fallout 3..Never played Fallout 1 or 2 etc due to the fact that I wasn't in that generation ( Only just turned 19 )...The first fallout game I've played is Fallout 3...In my mind it is the best Game ever...

I then heard that it was you guys that started it all and created the first 4 games ( Including Tactics and BoS ) so those must be even MORE awesome I thought...I just wanna know, will it be worth it if I go out and get Fallout 1, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics and Fallout BoS ? Or is it too late since I've played and finished both Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas....

PS : I cannot wait for Fallout Online! ! ! I mean the first MMO that doesn't seem to be based on that WoW crap and is truely original to the MMO world..

Any ways I'd like to say Hey from down here in South Africa :)

You should understand that your experience will be a derivative of your expectations. Fallout 1/2 are nothing like Fallout 3. Nothing like Fallout 3. They are so different, that you can barely compare them. This is why those who played F1/2 usually do not understand or like F3, and those who played F3, find F1/2 strange or very different. Because you have played F3 first, you have formed a general picture of what Fallout universe is. Well, F1/2 may break that picture apart.

For the good or for the bad but you should definitely try them.

I had contemplated this all day at school today ( I'm 16 ) and think I failed a test but what the hell...Anyways I decided to get them and I FRIKKEN LOVE EM! Way better then Fallout 3... And it answered a lot of my questions ... Brilliant story!

I may be the new generation but for me a game isnt about graphics...It's about the Setting, Originality, Lore and DEFIANTLY the story..

Really enjoying Number 1...Can't wait to try Tactics and Fallout 2

I'll never figure out if I like Fallout 3 / New Vegas or not, since I'm getting horrible motion sickness from Bethesdas gamebryo engine.

well i dont see the big deal frankly 1/2 tactics and 3/new vegas were great games how ever ill say that i had alot more fun with 1,2, tactics, and 3. b.o.s. was well it was ok about a 2.5 outta 5 in my book was just missing alot of the "penash" that went into the other fallout games, new vegas as well it kinda seemd like it should have just been an expansion to 3 rather then a separate game.

if your genuinly going to play the originals then i hope your one of the few in your generation that can get past graphics and be happy with story and gameplay because you will have alot of fun and love the originals, tactics is to short in my opinion that game was fun i mean seriously you got to use a tank >.> well if you salvaged it any ways otherwise you get stuck with that stupid hum V thing. 3 in my opinion was the answer to the original fans we were waiting for even if we mostly thought it should have been alot bigger even after the expansions.

not to mention whats up with all the vaults being empty now a days >.> i know i know and so should alot of people who played all of the fallout games apart from the super mutants and b.o.s. and just the random experiments the vaults were intended for... alot of people got killed off or left the vaults. still it would be nice to run into the occasional vault with people still thriving in it *cough* with lots of tech to play with *cough* XD i hope in Fallout online they allow you to take over a vault for a guild hall sort or like an underground b.o.s. bunker, something interesting were you can put some hefty tech in.

i cant agree with that

i played fallout 1 fallout 2 and fallout 3 (fallout2 is still my favorite :D)

and fallout 3 is like 1 and 2 (well sure the story is other) but the rest is the same just that u have in f3 a 3d grafic and real time fights (not round based)

but u can explore the whole world in all 3 games u can be good or evil u can decide ur playstyle by urself (means u can use weapons (small big laser) or just ur fists u can be a fighter or a medic or a sneaker etc)
oh and dont to forget u allways are a kid from a bunker

so i ask where are the big differences?

and i like all 3 games fallout 2 was the best of those (in my opinion) and i like fallout 3 nearly like 2 (just that fallout 3 have some hard bugs (maby they fixed them on a new patch but dunno) and fallout 2 have a higher replay rate (i played it over 5 times and i allways found anything new (-: ))

but i still like to play fallout 2 and fallout 3

I also would like to put in my feelings that you don't have to like either gamesas's Fallouts or Bethesda's Fallouts. I enjoyed them all. I would have to admit that I enjoyed the originals more, but I kinda think that's because by the time 3 came out I was already over Oblivion. Also 3 is a consol game and for some reason consol games lack depth. The guys at Obsidion did some excellent work on New:Vegas but even though they had some of the developers who worked on FO2 they had to stick with what Bethesda set down as a direction. The setting was much more like gamesass fallouts then 3 was.

If you liked 3 then most likely you will appreciate gamesas's Fallout's because after all, all of the inspiration for 3 comes from gamesass work.

If you don't have the Original Fallouts, give them a try. gamesas is selling a digital download on their main site. It's a pretty good deal for some classic games with excellent stories (even Tactics, which i think is a very underrated game) and by purchasing from gamesas you support them and nothing is better then support the people who make the things you love. :D

plus they could probably use the dough. Another drunk conquistador conquering the governor's ball...

I played FO1 when it first came out but sadly never got to play FO2 or Tactics. my friends all told me they were great. I played 3 and Vegas and while I miss some of the things that made 1 so great, Bethesda did a great job making 2 good games. They didnt do as great as they could of though....but then again I broke my teeth on pen and paper rpg's so I can get a little to into a game XD

I say fallout 2 is the best of all new and old fallouts although fallout 1 does come pretty damn close. Fallout three and Vegas don't seem to have the same depth.
