FOOL for a Mac

Post » Sun Jul 19, 2009 4:54 pm

I know this is a topic most likely to get flammed, but gaming seems to be opening up for Macs. It might be more money and time to develope for OS aswell, But I know alot of Mac gamers who'd kill for an Alternative to WoW. Might pay off in the long run.

As a mac user: it doesn't truely matter because I have Bootcamp and will play FOOL regardless.

But thought it might be a good thought. Another drunk conquistador conquering the governor's ball...

Both Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 were released for Mac and Windows if I remember correctly. It's not entirely outside the realm of possibility that Fallout Online would be made available for both environments as well.

edit: I just read an old post by ChrisFallout that says it's only going to be for PC initially. :(

I really wonder how many Mac gamers *don't* have an Intel machine capable of dual booting Windows these days...

For me, it'd be handy to be Mac based, 'cause then I could play it on my Macbook. That said though, my PC is probably the only device I have that has the power to play it.

Unless (and I realise i'm heading for a flaming here) they release it for the 360 (ducks).

WINDOWS! PS3! You can see where my loyalties lie. Let the flaming begin. I put the 'Skill' in 'Kill.'
Wait, what?

Yeah, because on your macbook you could play at a whopping 5 FPS!

Get out of here with console propaganda. :D

As posted earlier in this topic, you probably won't be seeing a Mac version for the initial release (if that even happens).

It takes resources to port it to Mac. Those same resources you can use to develop and polish the game as a whole before you put any resources into a port that's most likely going to give you far less value in proportion to the resources you put into it.

Even though I've abandoned Apple-Macs myself, they're really starting (ironically to me) to grab market share again outside of the design scene. I played my first spoonful of Fallout on a iMac, although nostaligia shouldn't influence business decisions. Blizzard has always seemed to run their games across both platforms, and gamesas was a publisher for the first Warcraft so I guess they already know how successful or not it really is... Why do games studios have to fight and die? War, war never changes : (
