I have a few questions

Post » Thu Jul 30, 2009 5:09 am

Is Bethesda going to have anything to do with this game? If not, why not? It seems to me that they are responsible for two of the most popular, and probably best, games in the franchise. Is there no way to get them to work with gamesas on this?

Due to the lawsuit, we cannot discuss this. I hope you understand.

Well I suppose you guys can't, although i dont see why you couldn't discuss the possibility of bethesda's input, but we can. I wonder what other people's opinions are on whether or not this game will be worth it without Bethesda's input.

As another point, Phaedros, its not very polite to discuss other companies (Competitor) and their games on a company supplied and supported site.

That is not telling you that you can't discuss it. I am not a moderator here.

But it is a polite way to say, please don't.

Doing so, is just like talking to one side of divorce telling that they should stay together, but you don't have any idea or facts about why they are getting a divorce.

I am personally very excited by the prospect of the FO 1/2 development team creating a game with their own concepts. The individual mechanics being discussed in all the posts are great and bring up many good points, but as the game designers are fully aware of the systems in place for other MMO's I am sure they will borrow and modify them to suit their concept.

I am confident that the organization that made BG1/2 and FO1/2 the revolutionary and groundbreaking games they are will be able to create an engaging and emersive world of their own. I am hoping this will be another milestone in videogame history that will redefine the standards of gaming as the gamesas legacy has done in the past.

Fallout 1/2 are the most popular, and the best... a lot of other FPS are better than the one you mentioned...
When you have some experience playing games for 15 years and more on the PC from the age of commodore 64...and play Fallout from 1997... than you can say what is what...otherwise you just see something shiny with new graphics...I'm sorry for being direct...but I also don't like other companies or games being mentioned here... Just because some games are more popular (which is mostly due to market growth and console sales, not the games themselves) that does not make them the best in a franchise.

I highly, highly doubt that gamesas will be working with beth on FOOL, for legal reasons if for no other reason. Personally, i feel that's for the best because FO3 was not a worthy sequel. I'm still on the fence about FO:NV though, but i definately feel that FO:NV should be FO3 and FO3 should be called FO:The Capital Wasteland.

Seeing how a lot of the people at Obsidian worked on FO2, i wouldn't mind seeing Obsidian working with gamesas. FO:NV wasn't made by beth, after all.

Beth succeeded in making some quality RPG-adventure games with Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I for one, am very thankful to them for reviving the Fallout universe--in addition to hours of entertainment. If they hadn't done so, I doubt Fallout Online would have been possible.

That being said, the original two Fallout Games are some of my favorite gaming experiences EVER. I like New Vegas a lot and it still doesn't hold a candle to FO1 and 2.

1. I think it's an incredibly petty thing to say it's rude to talk about other company's games especially when it has so much to do with this particular topic. I'm not responsible for the fragile ego of some game developer.

2. I didn't see something "shiny". I saw a game that I am currently enjoying very much. For all of you PC gamers out there with a superiority complex, the fact of the matter is that most games are crap. That's true whether you are talking about PC games or console games so get off that high horse.

You didn't get it ... the point is that mentioning other companies games will get some fire cooking on other fans/players and they will start saying nasty & bad things...not a good thing...we are here to support PV13 not discuss other companies or games...also there are a lot of other game manufacturing companies and they compete with gamesas for the market of players... so tell me from what company would you buy a game one that is trying their best or the one that is spitting on everyone...its god/bad business...if you don't work yet you'll get the picture when you get a job...

For a high horse...I have also X-box..and I recommended a lot of people to try out Fallout 1/2...a "lot" of them...were grungy on graphics..but after completing it they saw what is missing in the games you mentioned...also they loved them and they said Fallout 1/2 & the games you mentioned are different games with similar concept...and they can hardly wait for PV13 from gamesas....try them out and then we'll talk... Not petty, it's actually against gamesas's forum policy to talk about other game companies and their games.

Actually I am surprised that Chris has not posted such yet. But then again he and gamesas are busy making games. ;)

Now you are just being rude.

Perhaps it is a relevant topic, but considering that Chris has stated that gamesas CAN'T comment, and this is gamesas's site, perhaps it a topic best discussed in another forum.

This topic has run it's course. Please remember a couple of community by-laws, suggestions, rules, and other miscellanea:

1. These forums are for the discussion of gamesas and gamesas games. Please keep discussion of other games and game companies to a minimum.

2. Not withstanding Rule #1, never say negative things about other games and game companies.

3. Please be polite to each other and respect the golden rule.

Thanks!
