Russian Language

Post » Thu Aug 06, 2009 8:04 pm

I have some questions:
Will there be a forum in Russian language?
Is it true that the events will take place in Russia?
-----------------------------------------------------------
У меня пара вопросов:
Будет ли форум на русском языке?
Правда ли что действия будут разворачиваться в России?

At this time, there are no plans for a Russian language forum. Maybe in the future.

We have not announced any specific details about the location or setting for the game. Any "events set in Russia" comments are pure speculation at this time.

I think it would be cool / neat, if like you find on movies, that you could select your langauge on your system and the words would translate automatically even for chats from other players.

:)

So, it would not matter if you spoke Russian, Martian or English, everyone would understand you. Assuming that you made sense normally that is. ;)

So what about Russian servers? World of Warcraft experience shows, that if there is no russian server - they create it by self (remember Warsong?), just mass-transfering to one specified server and forcing local population to transfer to another ones.
So do you plan to make at least one Russian server? If not - think about it, otherwise we shall come and do it anyway  Excuse my bad English... I am a Russian bear, it's hard to type with claws.

Always had an insane idea for the next Fallout series taking place not in US but in Soviet Russia.
Would be really awesome. The whole new horizon for graphic contence in fallout style.
And a brand new story. If only i owned a game dev. studio...

On topic: definitely there should be russian servers, case we have here lots of true fans of the game.

There is no beta test yet. You can sign up for the Fallout newsletter here, though it's all English: http://www.fallout-on-line.com/

In SWG I inadvertently chose the French server to play on. It was actually a really cool experience and I learned some french inorder to communicate with my friends. If I had a keyboard with Russian characters on it i would play on a Russian server just for the unique experience of a language barrier again. You don't need a special keyboard to type in other alphabets. You just need to configure your keyboard for alternate language layouts. So you could type in Chinese if you felt like learning how.

i dont want to be mean to anyone or anything like that BUT....
fallout in russia would be kinda lame IMO, if you want a russian themed post apoc game, go check out the Stalker series.
making a fallout game that goes into that direction would remind me too much of those games (although i like Stalker a lot).
personally i belief it should stay in the US, if i'm allowed to dream it would be a place with both big cities (just imagine walking through a post apoc NY) and rural areas.

Where are you from, kid? For you to know, the Fallout 1-2 in Russia have been sold as many copies as in Europe and America both. And at least twice more copies were pirated :D The best unofficial patch for Fallout-2 was made in Russia by Fargus team. Excuse my bad English... I am a Russian bear, it's hard to type with claws.

For some Reasons which i do not know why... Russians are big fall out fans.. and also big Role players, Had a friend go to one of those events, said it was the best time of his life.

Maybe some ester eggs ;) a little something saying thanks for being a great help.

But as a ingame translator... goggle translator is often iffy at times. It could lead to more problems then it solves.

i think smart people "must to make" smart game and it could be about Russia but we talking about FALLOUT it was simultaneously in every corner of planet so it certainly could be Russian setting or Chinese like they wanted to do last time
and still i think it should be at least planet-wide :)
