The Last Warrior (currently streaming on netflicks)
The Book of Eli
Soylent Green
Jeremiah (series)
Bladerunner
Doomsday...

... i dont feel like writing a list when there already is one:

Although, i gotta say your failure to mention soylent green and bladerunner has me very disapointed in your FO fanboy status... :-P

Book of Eli, how could I have forgotten that one. Since I started a thread on it myself. LOL

I didn't list Bladerunner and Soylent Green in my list because they are futuristic but not in the Fallout Kind of way. To many people still alive, to future tech/genetic, and space travel is alive and well and regularly used (in Bladerunner).

The Escape from New York/LA series is the same IMO as the 2 listed above.

But all 4 of those movies are greate movies (fun ones) just not what I picture as Fallout like. Of course your mileage will vary. ;)

The reason i have to chastise you for not mentioning soylent green and bladrunner, is that they are listed as being some of the inspiration behind wastelander and later fallout. There are even several easter eggs which directly reference the two movies.

Of course, if you want to get that picky, The Day After doesn't belong in your list because it's Apoc, not post-apoc :-P.

And you did ask for movies that 'set your mood toward Fallout' not that 'are right in line with the fallout universe'. And, IMO, both bladerunner and soylent green do this nicely.

Nope, no hard feelings on my part, just listing the reasons I didn't select them my self. ;)

To me, other than it takes place days before, during and just after the war when the bombs dropped, it does set the feeling of radiation sickness, desperation and survival.
Most movie picks are way after the bombs dropped but not all of them.

Yup, each person has their own favorites that they like or think are more Fallout than some one else.

That is part of the fun of these threads.

The movies you listed that I didn't are still good movies.

Laserblast? THIS Laserblast? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laserblast

To give it credit, it made a great MST3K episode. I put the 'Skill' in 'Kill.'
Wait, what?

Yeah, that one. It's silly, and thinking of Fallout it reminds me of the easter eggs and other special encounters, like the whale and the silly alien ray gun that one can find in Fallout ;)
