Q: Combat

Post » Thu Aug 13, 2009 5:51 pm

Ok this has bugged me for a while. Does anyone have any info on how will the combat be handled?
I just hope there won't be autoattack.

Also I would like to know something about the gameplay. Will it force you to be a combat character? In previous fallout games you were allowed companion/companions which meant that moreless you didn't have to be good at smashing/hacking/shooting. I know this will be a mmo but as we all know not always we can rely on other people like we could on our companions. Will you atleast give us a dog? :geek:

Some other threads the discussion was that by having each create their own character types by their skill and action choices, that it will (hopefully) create the need for grouping or interaction with others.

That combat machine guy/gal, will need some good old doctoring sooner than most and possibly a good tech to keep things running/working.

Then again that doctor might need the combat guy/gal to keep them save since the X gang doesn't have a doctor and want to aquire him for their home area.

Its all wishful thinking on my part but i hope the combat is FPS style which would make it impossible to be turn based or special attacks on cool down. Purely strategic and military combat oriented.

I do also hope how ever that the character can opt to skill them selves up as "Crafters" or as they may be called in Fallout "Traveling Merchants". Like i said in another threated, i'm a Carebear thats Pro-PvP. If anyone encounters me in other PvP based MMO's i'm the guy off in enemy territory trying to steal your Brahman Cattle for my own profits on leather, meat or what ever craft items will come from them lol...

But ya i do hope its FPS mostly with the option to zoom out to 3rd person, which even works well for Melee weapon combat.

I'm going to take an educated guess and say Earth Rise style over the shoulder click to shoot somthing simple yet complicated when you get deep into the strategy behind it.
