It's neither isometric nor first person. I put the 'Skill' in 'Kill.'
Wait, what?

Read the FAQ... The game will run on the Earth Rise engine. Here's what you can expect the game to work like mechanically http://youtu.be/TfGuVyzj9QM Another drunk conquistador conquering the governor's ball...

Has anyone here played Earthrise and have some impressions about the engine? I've only seen videos.

Thank god... If it were FPS it would have dashed my dreams... i never finished fallout 3 for that same reason... 1 hour of play for 3 hours of puking and lying on a couch is simply unbearable... this is coming from someone who can play Fallout 2 for 18 hours straight...

Depending on how the combat system is set up a system like they used in Fallen Earth would be nice. The option to look through the scope attached to your rifle would be nice :D

I don't think a pure 1st person view is ever a good idea for an MMO but that is me. I like to be able to see around more than just the field of view directly in front of me when I am wandering about scaving for anything and everything I can find. I just hope they have some sort of crafting in game as I thoroughly enjoy hoarding supplies and crafting for a while once I return to an outpost or camp.

I am just happy gamesas is at the reigns of this game. I enjoyed the latest installations of the series but 1, 2, and tactics had a feel to them that are gone these days. That being said I also hope to see a M rating on this game. There is nothing pg-13 about a post apocalyptic world

p.s. This is my first post so hello to everyone and here is to what will be the best darn post apocalyptic simulator available.

Wow style is fine. Pure 1st person takes me out. Been doing some training on borderlands recently. I guess i'm not that seriously affected anymore. can be trained i guess.

You do realize that it must have been a joke? Or would you like to play a game where your view is from someone else's point of view?

I'm guessing for the standard MMO 3rd person over the shoulder type of style...

I wouldn't like it to be 3rd for a fallout game. 3rd Is got for gta ' stuff, But not fallout-ish like, What I would like to see that oth mode would be featured would be good for me Enclave Officer THE EPICOR

But how about making it in a second person point of view (like Fallout 1 & 2) that's driven on the Earthrise engine? Firstly it would be something for the "old-timers" that grew up playing Fallout 1 & 2, and it's an interesting perspective on a online game.
It's a trend to do online games in the third person perspective, and first person is also being over-used. I miss the good old days with games such as Fallout 1 & 2 (ofcourse), Sanatarium, Diablo etc.
But one can only hope, and I know that this will not be fact.

Interesting, but odd. It would turn a lot of MMO fans off, and would greatly hinder how you enjoy the layout and feel of the game. My guess is that it's going to be 3rd person with adjustable zoom. It's been tried, proven, and loved by many. Image

Fallout 1/2 is isometric view.
In second person point of view, the action is shot from the perspective of a character who is not the protagonist. To qualify, the player must continue being in control of the protagonist, but see action through the eyes of another character which he can interact with.

i.e, some games (old 2d games for example) where you might face a boss and you see the battle through his eyes.
They got a good example in here.

Just wanted to clarify that. Image

i've always been a big fan of 1st person myself. seeing in 3rd person ruins any immesrion for me. where's the fun in being able to in 360 vision  . no one i've ever met has that kind of vision. i know that it's virutally impossible to properly implement perfect 1st person pov on a 2d computer screen but with a proper KB configuration, it's no big deal to periodically hit the (q/e or similar)to turn your eyes a little left or right to see if anything's coming at you trying to flank you. 1st person is the more immersive and realistic choice for playing most games.
a reduced, over the shoulder 3rd person/1st person hybrid, where the camera is just above the head so you can see in front but angled a bit to the side so you can see a bit on either side of you but not as a full on 3rd person pov is usually the best compromise for most folks as long as the choices remain to play in full 1st or 3rd as well.

I just tried Earthrise and the grafix are pretty nice but omg the motion sickness is the worst of any game I have ever tried. I am really sorry I bought it and didn't wait for a trial to come out. It just looked like it was going to be a blast. I read that this game is going to be using their engine and that saddens me a lot.
