Haha, awesome :P Have the car been... tuned a bit :P

Looks like a dark slummy area, ghoul like if you ask me, maybe mutants but it just feels more like a ghoul place.

Wonder whats going on inside >,> Image

Really love the car with the reactor attached to its ceilling. Even more as it's crashed just outside the factory. Someone did some bad calculations... or didn't do them at all :P

Nice piece of work!

Edit: Just remembered, isn't there a Darwin Award (or somewhat similar) that was about something similar? Something about a reactor attached to a pick up that when the reactor started literally melted by the friction...

True to the original concept art to the core. Gloomy shade ambient, and everything that is missing in every game which has the similar story.

Great job guys, hope that you will succeed in that law suit and put servers online :)

It has been quite some time since I've checked in with my fellow Vault mates and it seems I couldn't have chosen a better time. Perhaps it was a calling? Anyways I got a glimpse of the Fallout Online website. Chris, let everyone know it's purely awesome and completely Fallout! The music yet again set it all off with the static and short skips in between. I'm loving the concept art too and it proves you guys haven't lost your touch either!

I'm psyched and for the first time since first hearing rumors of the game after Fallout 2 quite few year back, I'm truly happy. gamesas has survived! Image
I told the Overseer of Vault 13 I'd give everything to save everyone, and so I did, I saved them all. Since then I've felt loneliness.

From looking at this concept art closely I have to agree it most likely is a ghoul area since the figure standing in front of the garage is too slinky to be a super mutant. Since I'm not sure of where the location of this game will be, if its in California/Nevada I'd say it could be a part of Necropolis. It definitely has that feel to it. Excellent work to the artist! You are making us old fans proud! Image

I remember hearing a similar story that was supposed to be part of the Darwin Awards. It was around the same as you say where a guy literally mounted a working jet turbine engine to a vehicle. The car worked perfectly but he did not calculate for the time it would take to actually come to a stop so he didn't figure how far he'd go. Which in turn meant he didn't scout his path all the way.

So he takes off and is gone within seconds and it wasn't long the crew drives following the smoke cloud to his location. When they finally got to the site they found a mountainous area far beyond their bounds. The car has hit into the base of a mountain and there was literally nothing but mashed metal indented into the stone. His body they said could not even be seen. With that much force his body, bones and all, would have literally disintegrated and fused with the metal and rock due to the high heat.

I'm sure he didn't feel a thing. Image

I like this sort of setting. I think the 'scraping by' and 'cutthroat' mindsets would be most evident here, as you'd expect in the stragglers who haven't abandoned the emptied husks of a city that no long has a society to support for a simpler agarian lifestyles. Why do games studios have to fight and die? War, war never changes : (

The game is played in the ruins of a once living and breathing world. I think one of the best things about walking around in the fallout universe is the small details that remind me of that. The accuracy of those details make the world really live for me. I think it's important, at least for the dev's to know what the game sites where. Not to just create 'Industrial site 0186b'. To me this looks like a refinery with a small coal power plant in the middle. It could also be a chemical plant. Just a constructive plug for consistent uniformity of purpose as you create the world. Remember to start with the world that was before we blew it up then change it as survivors, the elements, time etc... would have. Elements in the game that aren't consistent with that dynamic pull me out of the world and makes me say, "what the hell..." and ruins in one fell sweep the illusion you were trying to create.

I like this picture. I like the hazy polluted feeling. I could see this from a long way off and think... "Crap I better find a radiation suit (or in this case maybe a chemical suit) before I go anywhere near that place." The cooling/distillation towers make me a little paranoid of mutants snipers. I'm not sure about ghouls. If this place has any industrial functionality left organized mutants may have pushed out the ghouls. The picture defiantly make me want to get in there look around.
