at the end of crysis 1 you could see all the scouts rushing to somewhere in the skies, maybe they reached new york and that was their plan from the start and they adapted to take over new york.

they could be a whole new species or somekind of alien reinforcements because helena was talking about how the original aliens were sending out distress signals ''like a cry for help''.

When the orignal aliens failed to take over the world or something the new ones came in to take the cake.

that scientist guy in the be strong trailer who said ''ordinary men are but piles of flesh and blood too weak to stand a chance againt the new enemy we now face'' could have screwed up in a portal experiment and made a window for the ceph to enter our wolrd :O)

but there only theries :)

i think its the same blobies, yes blobies, from the first, just now they arnt in theyre giant exosuits space ships with dreadlocks, in the giant space ship they swim around in empty space, but im guessing that when they go outside, they were "suits" that let them walk around, and without needing absolute zero temperatures.

Maybe the government created a virus that was intended to kill the aliens but it infected the humans. The aliens took this opportunity and took over the human body to become a bipedal alien.

Maybe the aliens are just gotten out they're big suit to walk into buildings with little rooms instead of big blue things floating up in the sky

the new aliens look very much less 'alien' if you catch my drift...

the aliens in crysis were very different from humans - they didn't walk on two legs, they flew/floated, used freezing weapons, had giant walkers on 4 or so legs, etc.

now they are just more infantry to fight, or with a giant at-st type walker

the aliens really lost all of their originality from crysis 1 :(

Yeah but if u watch crysis 2 TV episode I don't know, u'll see that they walk on walls, sneak upon u etc ... pretty much the same as the floating things, except the fact these aliens can surprise you much more.

Here is my theory. Based on how Helena stated that they were too advanced to be extra-terrestrial and how in the Story Trailer some guy said we should have been looking down. My conclusion is that they are terrestrial (not extra). Also a man in the trailer says they have come to reclaim what is theirs. They are probably some advanced race that preceded humans as the primary species of earth. Now they are back and they wake up to find us where they should be. Tell me what u guys think.

Pretty much as the first game suggested, the "aliens" are infact a highly developed race that was on the earth way before humanity and were dormant until us pesky humans started digging around on the island. The way they are depicted in the videos for Crysis 2 is simpy them in exosuits. People are forgetting that they only "swam" in zero-g inside the ship.

This sounds like a pretty good theory, based on the trailer. The question is, did they evolve on earth, or did they come from somewhere else before life evolved here? Also, why are they just appearing now? Is it possible they were terraforming the planet for some reason and we evolved, or were humans made to be a resource for them? I have a few crazy ideas and theories, but that they were here first seems pretty well established by that trailer.

Of course that line in the trailer could have been used as a screwball to get everyone speculating. Also, about the signal at the end of the last game, what if it was just sent to a relay out in the solar system, and response that was sent back woke up other "ships" on the planet?

That is a good theory....... they have been here before man, but the lazy sak of blobs didn't have a definitive power source, like being stranded on the side of the road with no gas. So they call there lazy as friends to come and get them, but like all good friends they have to wait for there friends to come pick them up, but like always they have some crappy service and it takes forever to get a text message through. So they gave up on there friends and preferred human civilization to invent gasoline for them.....

by the way, they are all metaphors, they waited for the nuke, they got a little to excited with all the extra energy and launched a full scale invasion.

Here's my question, why New York, is bad things all ways happening to New York, is D.C. too good for you, or even Richmond VA?
I've love to see Crysis go to Salt Lake city, I want to see the Ceph blow the crap out of Salt Lake City for once.

In terms of storyline, there's probably something buried under the city. In terms of development, its likely because NYC is extremely recognizable, and very distinct (as are a lot of the land mark buildings in the city).

sooo, i′m playing the german version of crysis 2 and i found out, that there are at least 4 different types of ceph ground forces in the game: the Molusker (eng. Grunt and Stalker, a melee variant of the Grunt which is faster and likes to jump onto u and smash u in the ground), the Koloss (eng. Heavy, the big fat powerarmoured thing, which are very hard to destroy if u don′t use frag granades or c4 or rpg/JAW), the Walker (eng. Pinger aka Crysis 2 Strider because it has 3 legs and sends a "ping" after charching its back generator, his only weakness against explosives) and the damn useless Pickers (the very small one bug like, which pick into a corps).
For killing one u get 100 p/ 500p/2000p/20p for upgrading your nanosuit.

oh, i forgot one, the Stealthy One. They have also a stealth mode like u and u need a special upgrade for your suit to see them..

I do not like the new aliens they look copied directly from Halo , of course with a certain design difference....

the basic ones are Elite jackals breeds , the Tougher ones are The elites , the Big ones are the Hunters and the Tripod thing is just a star wars walker with 3 legs , where have gone all the cool aliens of Crysis 1 the innovation etc ? I expected to see flying drones among the skyscraqers , Walking huge spider Drones on the debris and the Cool aliens , I expected to see frozen terraform from the aliens , the Super ice Dome expanding from Central park ... instead all the cool ideas ... Gone , and we got those easy to kill copies of other game ....
