Crysis 2 Sandbox on Consoles

Don't suppose you fancy clearing these 2 different subjects up? They seem to blur into one IMO.

It will just end in pointless debat, sorry.
Maybe we should call it a mapmaker instead of sandbox editor.

Hi there,

There's been no announcement regarding Sandbox for Crysis 2 on PC or Consoles. You'll no doubt hear about it here and at Crymod.com if/when an announcement is made :)

Cheers.
But it showed an editor in the tech demo for consoles?

Agree yoz, seems like people are talking past each other here because they're hung up on terminology. A 'map maker' is all console users would expect, not the full features of the Sandbox editor. Hope the PC users finally get that, and don't feel the need to explain AGAIN how a console could never handle the Sandbox...we get it.

That said, I think if Crytek was going to include a console editor they would've shown it by now. This game is not a 'slam dunk' for the consoles, and they should be doing everything they can to generate interest.

BTW, haven't been here in months. Glad to see the forums are finally fixed =)

They better have a map maker for consoles, i don't care if it's as good as the PC version. The one they had for Far Cry 2 was pretty damn good so I don't see how they wouldn't be able to make one at least as good as that for Crysis 2.

We had nothing to do with Far Cry 2.

Thanks Maxpower I couldn't agree more but I think I have a little more hope in an editor (map or Sandbox lite) being released on console. I think they aren't showing it off because Ubisoft decided it was smart to focus solely on the editor for FC2 instead of balancing between that and gameplay, granted I think EA and Crytek want to make sure everyone knows that this a AAA title first then show they have an editor for the consoles too. But I'm just speculating hoping about it, granted I'm getting on PC I hope it does well on the consoles because if it flops it could be the last Crysis, and the consoles are going to determine if it's successful or not.

A sandbox editor on the Console is possible, but not that you can create a total conversion, but if it is only for maps and such then yes. Look at Far Cry 2 ;)

PC at the hand is able to have this, as you have a mouse, and such. And more processing power.
