Discussion on Air Stomp

Something is wrong with this skill. Yes I know it does more damage the longer the fall.

Either way, there are many times I use it, from great distances or normal super jump distances, and it simply does nothing. Landing right next to people it sometimes does nothing. Using it on slopes or stairs it doesn't seem to travel up/down them, or its just another case of it not working.

A couple basic questions.

Does the distance increase range and/or damage? If it "hits" someone is it a one hit kill or can it just "hurt" someone as well.

I think it's supposed to follow a fairly basic formula of greater falling distance = greater power / radius. However, I would not be surprised if it turned out to be bugged. While it may have been updated since the PC demo, I did have one kill in particular I found rather odd, and I threw it into one of my montages:

As you can see, the distance traveled was extremely short, I mean hell I ended up higher than when I started.

Yeah, when it works its AWESOME. But there are so many times I land right next to someone, like bodies touching each other, and it does nothing. It's so frustrating!

I also have noticed that the Air Stomp is kind of... special. I recently used it for what I thought would be some kick-ass killing, but instead nothing happens when landing/slamming next to enemies. The only thing that worked was when I landed a Air Stomp ON an enemy, NOT next to them. Which kind of takes away the meaning/usefulness of it. On the description and small video-clip it shows that it's supposed to kill enemies in a radius, but hopefully the current state of Air Stomp is just a bug. I hope that the devs are aware of this issue and will fix it soon.

Yeah it definitely seems bugged. Sometimes it kills while they're at a disance and sometimes it doesn't when I land right next to them. And before anybody says the higher you are blah blah blah yeah I already know that. However, I have tried killing people from the same spot before and sometimes it kills others it doesn't.

Yeah , air stomp is bugged or was nerfed to the point of being useless . I jumped from one of the roof in pier 17 , landed right next to the guy , crushing his foot , didn't do s*** , then I died . in the killcam of him killing me , I see myself crashing on the ground right next to him , then he take a few steps back, and taking all the time in the world , he aim for my head ( because the air stomp animation is so dam f'ing long ) and kill me .

The damage is based on the velocity. Whether they mean vertical velocity or horizontal as well, I made a couple of tries in some specific easy spots. It seems that if you get your sprint to max speed during the jump, the landing is even more deadly. Meaning, if you do a simple power jump even from a fair height without sprinting, thus having no horizontal speed movement during the fall, you do less damage. Or at least this is how it felt when I did my lil stomp trials. Still working on it though and I'm not too certain of what I'm just typing. But it FEELS more effective. In short, "velocity" might not only be the calculation of your falling speed, but as well as how fast your jump is, from your running speed = try doing it with pistol in hand, a smg or a shottie. And don't put too much mods on it while you're at it. :)
