Replace "Classic" with "No Stealth" game mode?

Post » Sat Oct 30, 2010 11:33 pm

Admittedly I haven't unlocked the Classic game mode yet to see how it goes, but thought a game mode that only removed stealth would be more fun? I mean why buy crysis 2 to NOT use the nano suit?

Cloak is a part of the Nanosuit, infact its an important aspect of it and is part of the core gameplay for Crysis 2. If you are having trouble dealing with Cloak use Nanovision or look more closely for Cloaked players. Hitting a player while they are in Cloak is an almost guaranteed kill.

I don't know, It works great for SP, but in my opinion it adds more frustration than fun to the MP. Makes for slower, campier gameplay. Guess I'm alone in thinking this

OP, I'm not sure why you'd want to take a key feature out of this game that seperates it from most of the other mp games out there. Cloak doesn't alter the match time limit, so I'm not sure how it makes the game slower. I use Cloak and I am definitely not a camper, more of a stalker.

I haven't unlocked classic mode, but it looks like CoD with more menouverability - which is great.

Removing stealth though is ridiculous; there are plenty of people in-game who never seem to use it, and yet do just fine. The game isn't dictated by one suit mode, rather by the intelligent use of all three modes - this may mean that people run around in cloak until they see prey and then transfer to armour, but cloaked guys aren't really hard to spot, even without cloak tracker, and most are given away by their shadows unless they've levelled stealth enhance.

cloak makes the game not fun, there are plenty of noobs that abuse of cloack mode and sit down on a place cloacked waiting for the players and camping. Cloack it's ok if not abused but in this game it's really abused, in wars the cloack was balanced because you can see it or hear it, in crysis 2 you cannot hear it or see it and the perks that SHOULD show who is cloacked doesn't do his job because isn't really nothing exciting... balance it

What is wrong with your eyes? Cloaked players are pretty visible alot of the time. Cloak is balanced by the fact attacking insta-drains your energy, and you go down faster than a whore if you take a hit; not to mention that you can SEE them.

The Cloaked campers are easy targets. They sit there thinking that no one can see them playing with their dike, but I come up behind and shoot my load on them first!

Yeah, if you can't see cloaked players, you need to play with your settings, or go get your eyes checked, cause in the Demo and Crysis 1, Cloaked players was lot harder to see, and I could see them better than any one else. Now I can see the cloak more clearly than before, so camping POS are easy to kill. The only time I die from a cloaked player is if he's a stalker and he sneaks up on me, or I'm AFK.

Cloak is really the only complaint I have with this game, and there are many ways to abuse it and make it way overpowered. For example, I was using the Feline with mobility enhance the other day. I was able to run circles around the map cloaked, and usually ended up with 15+ kills every game with that setup. It definitely needs to drain energy faster. This game truly is starting to turn into Call of Duty: 2020 with all of the cloak camping kiddies. I'm hoping Cloak Tracker III will help me with this problem. Hopefully I can use it to frustrate these campers so much they go back to Call of Nooby.

You can't have been playing against good opposition.

Cloak Tracker doesn't work as well as it should, at lest right now. I find the plain Tracker works best, some times it works, some times it doesn't, but most times I can track cloaked players with it.

I wasn't asking to remove it from the normal game modes. I know its important to the franchise.

You are definately alone in this. This is the fastest gameplay I have ever come across, and frustration is usually associated w/ bad performance. Camping will definately get you killed, and you will never win a match camping. I get frustrated in matches where everyone is running around w/ their armor turned on and no cloaking (which is basically what you are wanting) but I adapt and hit my armor right before I put 10 bullets in their head. Thats how you deal with different styles of gameplay, and thats what makes the game so fun is that there are so many different ways to play it.

Well there are at least a couple of people on this thread who agree so i'm not completely alone.

I dunno, sometimes cloakers are easy to see, sometimes i walk past three of them. i'm playing on PS3 and there is quite a bit of bluriness unless you're moving slow or standing still. thats what i mean by slowing down the game. maybe on PC with its superior graphics/framerate they are easier to see?

I wouldn't mind cloak so much if I got a little more audio feedback. feels like you are runing around with ear muffs on alot of the time. people are running around without the quite footsteps module (covert ops i think) and I can't hear em at all.

i haven't really used nano vision much so i'll try using that more to scan the area before moving ahead
