With all the ratings received from the gaming industry, I just thought about putting up a poll for Crytek to see what their gamers think of Crysis 2!

So please rate the game and post your impressions! Please note that this poll is more about Crysis 2 the game and less about hardware, so please let us not turn this into another pointless thread de-bating / arguing about hardware.

I have played both the PS3 and PC versions, my impressions:

Graphics & visuals
- The visual theme, “catastrophic beauty” really shines through and captures the feeling for the game brilliantly.
- While the game looks good, I’m a bit disappointed in the sub-HD graphics of the PS3 version and the non-DX11 support for the PC version.

Gameplay
- Customizing your Nanosuit 2.0 (N2) and weapons and then use them to strategize and execute your hit& run attacks is what makes this game awesome!
- The more “streamlined” N2 is great fun to use and the customization thereof is a great new addition. However, I somehow miss the red glow of the Strength mode and yellow glow of the Speed mode in the previous game.
- Even though I miss disappearing into the the lush grass and bushes of the first game, making use of all the objects to slide underneath and jump onto unwary enemies at least makes up for it. The sliding move and power punch are great new editions to the game.
- AI is a bit dumb at times. Enemies will sometimes get stuck or aimlessly just jump over obstacles to take cover.
- Brilliant SP campaign, and of a great length!
- PS3 controller layout and responsiveness is absolutely great! Thanks for this!!

Presentation
- I have never liked the appearance of the HUD very much, it just doesn’t look as cool as the sleek looks of the N2 itself.
- It’s always great to hear the N2 talking, but at some points I did feel it was talking too much lol.
- The way in which the story was communicated was satisfactory although it did take me some time to understand the symbiosis thing with the N2. There are some plot holes left which I have hoped would be explained (why the aliens are different from C1, what happened to Nomad and Pshyco, etc).
- Brilliant music and sound effects.

MP
- Unfortunately due to a slow and unstable internet connection I'm unable to give this a go. I have wished to see offline bots to be included so I could at least get a taste of this, but maybe next time. Some of my local friends really enjoy the MP, though many agree that they experience terrible lag (but then again, SA is known for its terrible internet services).

Conclusion
While Crysis 2 visually looks great, it’s a pity that it doesn’t take the full advantage of the PS and PC hardware which are capable of handling so much more. But in spite of its flaws, it makes up for in great, solid and fun gameplay. I will admit that Crysis 2 do feel a bit different from Crysis 1 and there are a few things I miss from Crysis 1, but in the end it feels different in a good way.

I personally think that Crysis 2 is a phenomenal game. I really have enjoyed it and it certainly is going to keep me busy for quite some time! I also think Crytek has done a brilliant job for their first multi-platform game and I know for a fact that the franchise got a lot of new fans.

My only real disappointment with Crysis 2 is missing out on the Nano Edition, I really hope that EA and Crytek will make more copies more freely available because I know a lot of people will really want to get one.

But a well deserved 9/10 :P
