IMO Crysis 2 is the next HAZE

Post » Wed Nov 03, 2010 3:16 am

So Crysis 2 should have been perpetually in development, DNF style until all the bugs were dealt with?

no i never said that. all the bugs that make the product stop working should be ironed out before release. all games have there bugs, but not all games have bugs so bad to were it makes the game unenjoyable or unplayable. i should have to worry about falling through a map, having the AI stop working, hackers in most of the matches, only few servers working. all these should have been dealt with before the release of the game.

You can bet that the majority of the problems you've brought up there are a high priority for Crytek to fix.

They have to test the game to see if it's a problem with certain hardware configurations, the SLI/Crossfire issue, or an actual issue with the game itself, the AI issues. This is the reason patches take time to be released.

i dont care if its a high priority on there list, and i am glad that it most likley is. but they should have NEVER BEEN THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Well for having a common sense people attack you personal ah well ,the internet is full of people who think they are right. And cannot even comprehend people have different opinions.

@ charlie nash, please If u are a fan okay but a blind fanboy?
I never said a game has to be bug free, there are bugs that can only get discoverd when going live to thousands of people. But this game just put it in ANY testing PC and u will directly see what happens.
NO anti cheat? U can mod the files without even a program christ sake. How can u defend in blindness?
Servers ping messed up even now, disconnects, cd key trouble, nano cataclyst in SP resetting, sli/crossfire flickering like u would get eppileptic from it, AI that is blocked on one place and just turs and turns, if u call that Just bugs'.. lol okay.

Have a nice day sir.

Which brings me back to this question, should it be in development forever to stamp out all issues?

There's only so much testing that can be done and a point where the developer HAS to say enough is enough we need to release this. The Crytek employees are only human, just like the rest of us, meaning patches are a necessity.

Not only that but EA were probably putting pressure on Crytek to get the game out on the shelves.

Why everyone blames EA, Did EA confirm this? Ea is also the publisher of Dice I don't think so it will be as bugged as this game. If it does feel free to point it out to me when it is released.

Blizzard : We release when it's done, if it is not good we just cancell it.
They need only to get that idea for 50 % and it would have been great, testing? I doubt it was even propperly tested on pc's at all. On consoles Yes every console is the same ofcourse. On pc? Christ sake all those bugs/problems had to be there in QA also. They just said : Let us patch it instead of delaying.

Wich was a mistake, I rather wait a little longer to have a polished product than pay& play when it's broken.

Matter of opinion ofc.

OMG it has been in development for more than 3 **** years! other game companies have pushed 2, 3, and sometimes 4 games in that time without any major bugs. 3 **** years the game should be 100% flawless! and yea if it does have problems like this after 3 years THEY SHOULD KEEP DEVELOPING until they get all the major bugs out!

I agree with the OP. They are taking too long to put out any meaningful patches for the game. The last patch was supposed to address cheating, but that was a failure. We were supposed to get a patch this week to address the many issues of the MP, it's Saturday.

I said it before and I'll say it again, Crytek are killing their own game with such meager support. And if/when the MP flops, they will have no one else to blame except themselves.

Crytek better not fool themselves, most of the people who bought their game at launch, console or PC, did so for the MP. And when people see how badly the MP fails, they'll just leave it off and ignore future iterations of their game till it goes for a Steam sale for 10 or 15 bucks.
