The sky is too bright!

Can someone explain to me how to decrease the brightness of the sky? It is blinding when I'm playing MP.

This is called HDR, it stands for "High Dynamic Range", it emulates how your eyes see the light in reallife..

like when you have been gaming in your dark basemant all day, and you have to get out to do a chore, you get blinded by the bright light...

Also in the game when you "are" actually outside for a few seconds your (virtual) pupils adapt to the light and you see normally.

The same thing happens the other way around.
when you walk outside and you see a entrance to a hallway leading inside, from the outside it looks really dark, but when you step inside your eyes will adapt to the light and it looks normally, though if you look behind you, the sky is white and blinding again.

That won't make sense to the topic creator. See, you have to understand that he has limited experience with real life :p

Which is really bad for gameplay.

HDR is just a way to represent dynamic range beyond that of the display. It's not an excuse for improperly exposing the tonemap. And MP in C2 is very bright and bloomy.

I think it is actually "good" for gameplay as it opens more strategical options that you cant do without HDR.
Like hiding in a dark spot, and surprising someone who still hasnt adapted to the low light situations.

or hiding just outside of a door in broad daylight, and ambusing someone who just ran outside like a headless chicken. Catching him ofguard while he is still dealing with super bright light conditions.
