Dont blame the multiplayer on on consoles

Post » Tue Nov 09, 2010 9:36 pm

Let me start by saying this is not visual related so dont bring it up.

People are saying the multiplayer in cysis 2 is the way it is due to consoles. WTF is wrong with you people, you say because the maps are small that is because of consoles. HAVE ANY OF YOU PLAYED MAG!?!?! those are probably the largest maps seen on a(n) FPS game in history! also 256 players! they did NOT make the multiplayer the way it is because of consoles, they made it like the other best selling games example Call of Duty.

Mag is an exception in that it's selling point is the massive sizes of the maps and size of teams.

Evidence to suggest the lack of consideration for PC players lies in security. The game relied on console security (360/PS3) to prevent cheating. This isn't available on an open platform like the PC, and thus we had issues.

i understand that.

also it is not just MAG also Warhawk. some of the people are blaming the shallow, small multiplayer on consoles. i have not heard of anyone bring security. although it does make sense what you said.

Warhawk may have larger maps than most, but that comes at the cost of fidelity.

People should blame Crytek for choosing to do what they did, not the consoles.
