What really kills this game.

Post » Tue Nov 09, 2010 6:09 pm

Is the fact that my bullets don't count as hits even though I get a hit marker and the guy is clearly in my reticle.

This is either caused by server lag, some random bulletproof doodad, some quirky mechanic of the game, and/or a combination of both. I'm quite disappointed with the quality produced in gameplay design. The graphic detail, even without DX11, is lovely. Everything else is pretty horrible.

Second thing I really hate is running out into the open begging to be shot while trying to collect dog tags for my kill streak. It's bad enough that I can barely kill the guy unless I sneak up on him, now I have to run to his corpse before his teammates figure out where I am and grab the dog tag. I mean, only a suicidal sadist would shoot a guy then expose himself to the open just so he can grab a memorabilia off the corpse, and then proceed to teabag it. I'm not that kind of guy and damn it don't force me to be one.

I could not agree more. Its really a shame. This game could have been as good as the CoD games, but sadly the lack of polish and netcoding/server experience is what sets Cryteck apart.

The Online experience is as unstable as the game is buggy/flawed, which is saying alot.

Im on the PS3 btw.

Its a good thing its not like CoD. I find the hit detection to be more consistent. Aiming is harder in this game, because the aim assist is less noticable.

what do u mean with less ? ur playing on a console or something ? because for pc its getting more horrible every minute thats passed, and it will be more worse fast because ppl that getting sick of those cheaters trying to find a way to still win!! result: they might (PLS FORCE URSELF DONT DO IT) also using cheats....

there is 1 good thing about it, real players feeling proud of the results they get with working hard and fair!, cheaters dont care a sh1t about it and choose his weapon without thinking; dam i love this weapon so much i finaly manage to unlock it after all this hard work :D!!

So i hope to all cheaters they get bored fast and burn painfull :)

Team fortress 2 was successful because they had good servers with good anti-cheat systems. COD was successful because the bullet hit detection was crisp and accurate. When you hit the guy, YOU HIT THE GUY. Not only that, there was more room for customizing.

Crysis 2 barely has any of this. It's all sweet eye candy, everything else is bitter.

Thats why Crysis 2 has more perks upgrades unlocks and assessment esque things then any of the COD's. Sure it has less guns, but its more like battlefield in that sense...this game honestly is more of a fusion of Halo,COD,BF,and a wee bit of metroid prime. This games multiplayer is fine other then some hit issues and cheaters other then that i feel its A more balanced and B just plaing more fun then any of the recent COD's or Halo games, and a hell of alot more fun the BFBC2 which is arguably my favorite multiplayer shooter as of late

Surely you aren't referring to Black Ops? Worst hit detection of any FPS I've ever played.

Modern Warfare and Mw2, those games had decent hit detection. But they were successful for a myriad of reasons, not just hit detection. Frankly, Crysis2 MP has nothing on CoD - and I hate to say that because CoD's mechanics are sh!t. But the game design is basically the industry standard at this point, and Crytek tried to jump on that bandwagon instead of sticking with their formula from Crysis Wars (which may not have been as accessible, but at least it was something different).

*edit* I do agree with you though. Especially that last line, lol

CoD has great mechanics. CoD games have the best weapon handling and shooting mechanics in the FPS genre - which is skillfully imitated in Crysis 2. There is so much CoD hate on these forums; but you all own the game, and probably would like it if you didn't die so fast.

CoD in a nutshell. Anybody who claims CoD had good hit detection doesnt know what they are talking about. Even CoD4, the most competitive CoD there was, had to be modded to improve hit detection for the competitive scene because of how bad it was.

Doubtful there'll be a BFBC 3 anytime soon... or perhaps you're referring to Battlefield 3?

Team Fortress 2 had the worst lag of any game that I had ever played until they patched it. It was completely unplayable.
