Where is the patch Cry-Adam?

Post » Thu Nov 11, 2010 3:32 pm

Hi, where is the patch u said is coming this week. It's sunday now, and no 1.2 patch. Hmm money back or get ur finger out of ur butt and do something. Also heard that Steam users have got patch 1.2, is this info correct? If it is, why have'nt we got it yet? Game was launched for 9 days ago, 1 patch that made more problems that it solved haha. Way the go Crytek and EA, hope u are happy. We are'nt.

Steam users got a patch that went up to 1.2 for like 30 minutes, but it was reverted.

The Crytek team are out spending the money you paid for this bugfest... They're probably on a beach sipping cocktails around loads of naked women, lol'ing at this forums posts.

Threatening them is really gonna help..... Insulting CryAdam is way out of line. He is a COMMUNITY MANAGER which is basically a forum babysitter. He has no control over a patch.

You're not supposed to make topics or posts addressed to the staff. I'm as pissed as the next guy, but that's the rules.

Perhaps if they actully posted a bit more on the forums people wouldn't need to address the staff and people would most likely be a bit nicer as they would know what's going on with the bugs etc (and why on earth are you not allowed to address the staff? - i have never seen that on any other games forums).

The TC is right, we were told a patch was coming this week and the week is now pretty much over and no patch, the least they could do would be to give us an update as to what's going on with it (it takes only a few minutes), truth is the community contact has been frankly terrible.

So Edit his name out of the post and then we can all spam this to our hearts content, happy in the knowledge that our pleas are falling on deaf ears anyways.

I'm not confident that the patch is even going to fix anything. I think their priorities went from fixing bugs to fixing security loopholes already.

If the only way we can get noticed by the high and mighty is to address them directly then I think that's what we have to do. I've had this game for over a week, even went so far as to pre-order it. Guess what the only bit of it that's been playable is the opening movie. So I'm having a hard time believing that black screen issues and others weren't hinted at prior to release. I know they have been voiced LOUDLY here and we still get no response. So what should we do just throw our money away and not expect a working product and be happy about it?

Well, the game certainly does need a patch. I've managed to make the game run on my SLI setup without flickers now but I'm running post processing at low, erh, I mean high, to avoid flicker.

That says it all actually does'nt it? Can't be calling them 3 settings low, med and high, that'd sort of indicate that you'd potentially be running the game at the lowest setting. Real Life, Drugs without Negative Effects and PERMANENT ECSTACY! sounds more like it....

glitches aside let's talk graphics because like it or not, we're deaing with Crysis here folks! Consolites wanted Crysis 2 because Crysis 1 is the best looking game to date and as such, it's been a thorn in the side of the average high tech console owner, aware of the competetive nature of gaming graphics between systems.

Well? It's a pretty game sure, glad that's cleared up. On the other hand it does look and feel (not gameplay but you know what I'm talking about if you've played any PC game that renders most of it's assets rather than baking them into enviroment textures) more like playing the PC version of Bulletstorm than Crysis?

So I can handle some bad textures, Crysis 1 had some too, but I see a little too much of this:
Image

I think an adequate description would be "gorgeous game, just don't pay too much attention to detail".

As mentioned, it's not that I have ever seen a game with perfect attention to consistency and detail but that image is above is a very common occurance in a variety of ways, the impression of which is only enhanced because one of the predecessor's defining achievements was that it attempted to be as consistent as possible. Go back to 07 and compare it to the competition, what Crytek did was no small feat.

Also, while you can break things and the enviroment does react to your physical presence to a certain degree, I can't escape the feeling that this time around, it matters a lot more when, if and how they wanted me to interact/destroy.

At least to me, it's imediately obvious why the game runs better and where the extra computational power was found: By aking sure that there is less to computate.

The game works man, but it is full of bugs. Anyway it is a dissapointment that they didn't told us that the game will be released (because I think EA decides the release date), it will have some bugs, but they will try to manage them in a week or two.

On the other hand Cry-Adam is not to blame, he was nice and tryed to solve our problems as soon as he took notice of them. I really apreciate his work...

Honestly, I'd rather wait for a patch that actually fix the game than having one that is rushed.

Indeed, but you see that EA can build a lot of pressure on games developers, they are looking for profit first...

Yeah i understand that, but if they release a patch that is broken the community will just leave this game and it will die :p

Well, I've installed the patch 1.1 but it looks to me like a smoke veil. I'm waiting for a serious patch and I'm aware that it will come out later this month (15' th maybe).

I know he is not to blame, but they only serve us false hope that Crytek or EA comes with. They have'nt seen the problem, they have'nt tested what ppl call users hotfix. I had to make a totaly new acc cause my first one i made did'nt work on Crysis 2 MP cause their servers svcks ass.

And if we can't use staff or post adress to staff, how can we then get them to se us? I just want my game to work as much as anyother else here with only problems. And if Crytek or EA can't handle their angry users, they should thinked of that before they launched Crysis 2. Ppl was less angry with the Demo, much more angry now when they have been ripped off 60$ for a game with more bugs than AMD launch their WHQL drivers.
