Crysis 2 campaign - Perfect..

Perfect?
No. It's buggy, the AI is often retarded.
But still... you simply can't hate the thing when you play, despite all its flaws.

CRYSIS 2 is EPIC - Haven't played any game for a long time that I keep wanting to play more of like this one.

Stop whining - Crysis 2 is an epic game, and it is more than just multiplayer.. Crytek and EA did a great job - nice graphics, nice story, nice gameplay, and lots of epic moments and explosions.. One of the best campaigns ever..
really nice singleplayer, one of the best shooter experiences to date, but it did have some trouble with the AI, i liked it, but i still prefer powerstruggle over the crysis 2 mp

Far cry was shunned and laughed at. I actually don't understand why. Graphics were outstanding and the gameplay was beyond any competition. The game will become a blast when people stop looking at textures and start playing the game. One reason nowadays is probably that many confuse it with Ubisofts console game Far Cry Instincts. Yeah, Far Cry's game-flow and AI-design with all its macroscopic happening over time altogether is remarkable, to say the least. Don't know of any shooter that combines that intensity and depth of play into one. Also most atmospheric jungle sounds ever.

There is a way to top Far Cry:
Crytek should just make the following: Don't change anything, just paste the same Far Cry with Cryengine2, but give it a warm paradise-style visuals instead of the cold style of Crysis. Then refine the last quarter of the game, it was a bit messed up. Then rework the cutscenes, make them in game-time with seamless transitions like in Crysis. Done. You have created the best sp-fps ever with far less work and risk than you spent on Crysis2.

Most people are happy, despite what this forum would lead you to believe. Although crytek do need to sort out that dx11 patch, since crysis 2 was advertised as a dx11 game. With it, it'll hopefully put all the 'crysis 1 looks better' (and, to be fair, crysis 1 75% of the time does at the moment even if only by a small amount in some cases) stuff to rest.

Im sorry but the single player was ****. i guess you might find it good if your used to console games.
Nope, I only played on Gamecube some years ago. That's all. Guess what? I played Crysis 2 on PC.

Nice to see some positive posts.. I think Crytek have done an incredible job pushing DX9 and the story is more rounded than the first... Better ending too.

Seriously....on a purely SP experience level what other shooter is on the same level as Crysis 2?

what Far Cry 2? perhaps.....it's a little like comparing apples and oranges but yeah you get the same feeling of wonderment even tho it is somewhat bland.....no angle just a plain "could happen anytime" shooter.

Halo: whatever? Aside for halo: ce...I doubt it. It's still like comparing apples and oranges and all games in the halo franchise are great but does any of them offer the huge setpieces and depth crysis 2 does? (or lenght for that matter?)

Gears of War? Bioshock? Prey? The Darkness.?

Please...all amazing games but when compared to Crysis 2 even on the mere technical standpoint of the campaign in both lenght, depth and beauty they just cannot surpass it. Sure some of them might have better MP (halo in particular ) but we are talking about SP aren't we? And none of the aforementioned games are perfect are They? Neither is Crysis 2 of course, it has its faults but the experience is downright amazing.

epic explosions are nice but almost last on the list of what makes crysis 2's campaign amazing. Interactivity, awesome gameplay, and large environments with lots of options. these, i think are some of the more important things.

Very happy with it. I'm having quite a bit of fun. One of my major gripes about Crysis 1 was that the aliens were tedious and unsatisfying to fight. In this game they're still a challenge, but a fun challenge for once. There's less babysitting like trying to escort the half-frozen Prophet around within a time limit...

God I hate time limits.

I like the campaign too, but Crytek and EA did NOT do a good job because it is filled with game-breaking and annoying bugs.

Great ideas, but inferior workmanship.
I like Crysis 2 campaign too (I'm on my 2nd run) but the AI is BAD. Crysis 2's AI is probably the worst in the FPS genre. COD, Halo, Killzone ... don't have AI that this buggy and stupid. Too many times they run into walls, many times I stand right next to them but they dont even know, too slow to shoot me; or they just run away.

BTW, my fav FPS is still Far Cry 2.
