Understanding the hitbox multipliers. [IMPORTANT]

Post » Thu Nov 11, 2010 2:55 pm

I see a lot of people ranting that they shoot one guy in the foot about 9 times, and he kills him in 2 shots.

Let me explain:

Hitbox multipliers in Crysis 2 are different than in other FPS:

Basically it means if you shoot somebody with a Scar in his foot, you give him 10 shots, until he dies. If you shoot him in the head you need 2. A lot of people aren't understanding this, and call it lag. And yes, I know lag is existing, but you make it look even worse, without the knowledge that you NEED 10 shots to kill somebody if you shoot in his foot.

I understand multiplayers, weapon damage and player health perfectly. I know where im aiming and where im hitting my opponents. I know where they are hitting me when I die. Something is not right with this game. People drop me in the torso with 2 hits when im in armor mode sometimes. Its either something wrong with the games coding or the hit boxes arnt set up properly.

Also to be honest I think the headshot multiplayer is too high.

Don't trust the killcam. What you saw, is not what happened. Me and a friend of mine, are both recording with a HD PVR. We played some matches and in one match he was in the enemy team. Every time he killed me, it looked like he shoot next to me, or above me, but he never really hit me in the killcam. But when he sent me his HD PVR recordings, and I compared them to my HD PVR killcam recordings, they looked totally different.

Oh hey, you know for each weapon damage, cadence, and such?

Id love to know wether I need 2 headshots or only 1 headshot to kill with NOVA pistol.

The only 1HK headshot guns are:

Majestic,DGS1,GAUSS.

2HK headshots are:
Scar, Scarab, Grendel, MK60, Nova, Hammer.

3HK headshots are:
Feline, K-VOLT, AY69

5HK headshots is the X34-MIKE, it may have only 11 damage per shot, but it fires at a 1500RPM.

I am not sure if this is too much to ask, but can we see the videos? Would be nice to know what are the differences. Thanks!

I think the headshot multiplier is a little high. I agree headshots should do more damage, but in many firefights in this game so far it comes down to the first person who manages to get a stray bullet to the head while triggerspazzing. Despite the innate inaccuracy of killcams, it seems a few times that I've pretty much been killed by a stray bullet which was meant for someone else.

Perhaps 1.5 instead?

Does shooting someone in the back do more damage? To me, at least, it seems that i can take more damage when facing opponent and die very quickly when shot from behind (even in armour mode). Could just be my selective memory though...
