Does Crysis 2 support 5.1 audio system, or simple stereo?

Not only does it, but it does it incredibly well. I spent a bit of money on my surround sound and Crysis 2 does it justice..more-so than any other games I've played

Hmm, I was going to ask a question about this yesterday but I forgot to do so.

The problem is: I do have 5.1 sound system but Crysis 2 doesn't use it. It appears there are only very very few settings in the options menu and I can't find anything about surround sound. Anyone have any idea what could be the problem? Only the left, right and center speakers and subwoofer are used by the game. The rear left and rear right speakers don't do anything.

You cannot set surround sound in the game. The game looks at the Windows Control Panel to see what speaker setup you are using AFAIK.

Best surround I ever heard in a game. The stuff the suit is saying really nearly feels like it would come from everywhere, or from nearly inside you, like in-ear-headphones feel like.
