Possible work around for GPU problems (ATI Radeon)

Post » Thu Nov 11, 2010 10:35 am

Hey guys

I play a lot of games through steam, and using a HD5870 along with the Catalyst Control Centre (CCC) I would naturally bump up a lot of settings in there. In quite a few games this would render them unplayable to the point of major FPS drop, game crashing, flickering etc. Do what I did and turn every single setting in your CCC to Application determined. Let the game choose your settings instead of your control centre. The only thing I use my CCC for is overclocking the GPU, and I have absolutely no problems since doing that.

Let me know if this helps. It fixed games for me such as Dirt 2 crashing constantly, NFS Hot Pursuit not even starting up, and GTA Major FPS drop.

That's awesome that your CCC is working nicely, although where you have got the 11.3 version from I don't know. I've just updated mine right now to version 3.00.8 something.
