JAW: Crytek, WTF were you thinking?

Post » Thu Nov 11, 2010 5:13 pm

Seriously, why did you even put grenades in the game if the JAW ALWAYS kills you even if you have Armor Mode and 100% energy?

Crytek, Didn't you learn from Crysis 1 that the Rocketlaunchers shouldn't been used against infantry?

Please, fix that ****.

Each day it passes I'm realizing even more and more that this game is completely broken and far away of any possible fix.

Nah.. there is several scenarios were a grenade is better u can hit from multiple angles u can lay trap etc.., obviously a Rocket Propelled Granade which is used to destroy Heavy Armors.. will KO you and is only viable if they got clear sight, this is like the least broken thing you need to take a look to L-Tag & V-Volt & Marshall & Scar, or the legions of bugs if u whine about this Balanced aspect!

JAW should kill anything at once by a direct hit. But it shouldn't have **** of an AOE.

In the words of Vin Diesel.

I must svck bad but my JAW never kills anyone - think I have like one kill with it. It's disappeared out of my armoury now for some reason anyhow.

I think you still need to be fairly accurate with it because it doesn't seem to have a large splash radius.

they updated the JAW a bit, at first it was so slow that you could literally dodge it. Now it travels at a normal RPG speed and is more deadly. Occassionally it will still just shoot through the floor/map but for mass effectiveness it needs to be fired from above or fired directly into a player/object next to the player. I like the JAW and think if anything needs to be fixed it's the distance one can throw a C4... a small handheld explosive thrown by a soldier in a nanosuit only travels about 5 feet? I call BS on that...

Exactly, and that's very odd considering you can pick up objects in SP, charge up, and launch them. You should be able to do the same thing with grenades and C4.

charging up how hard you throw a C4, yes that would be ideal, however you cannot do the same with grenades as the more you hold the trigger, the longer you cook the fuse.

Yeah, the grenades already go a good distance as it is anyways. The C4 doesn't go anywhere though, you might as well stealth kill the person you're trying to get that's 5 feet away from you lol.

the JAW isn't pinpoint accurate plus has a minumum range so it's not uber.

plus the time to switch to your main gun ensures you die if there are multiple enemies sufficiently far apart

Its fine the way it is...it hardly kills anyone if not direct hit and second it's very slow to switch too.

JAW is fine. You must be having bad luck brah. I get killed by it but nothing to get pist off about. (Seemingly) less blast radius than grenades and can't be randomly thrown; I don't mind that people use it.

Who needs to charge up to throw when you can toss frogs into space?

If explosives tick you off so much, get Detonation Delay to lvl 3. It pukes a flare out of you when I rocket is coming.

As a side note this module is maybe one of the only among the others that can profit your team when you're packed up in Crash Site and dodging the hell out of explosives before the opponents engage the capture zone

Ok then. I realize the community dont find JAW overpowered.

Maybe it was me who raged by joining a noob server where everyone was doing the lamer using the JAW as primary weapon.

Congrats Crytek, one less thing to fix.
