What's the point of switching Armor Modes,

Post » Thu Nov 11, 2010 5:43 pm

If your energy STILL gets drained (as if you're still in stealth mode) if you shoot whilst transcending through Armor modes? I'm almost entirely in Armor mode (you can see the cubes around the edge of your screen) yet still my energy is drained, effectively killing me and my teammate whom I'm trying to save.

So, what's the point? Why not just keep firing in Stealth mode?

There are three selectable modes: Armor, Stealth and Default. Always beeing in Armor is completely stupid. It drains Energy, but it doesn't drain when you get shot at. It divides the damage in a half, so switch it on, when you know you get shot at. Otherwise, stay in Default mode (when you are in Armor, just press the armor mode again).

It's better if you tap the cloak button (if you're cloaked already) and then tap armor, that way you have no chance of shooting while in cloak, thus keeping your energy in-tact. It's grand for the xbox controls, rb lb shoot, it's quick enough.

I'm pretty sure it does after a few hits. You will rarely die in armour mode and still have full energy.

I love people that try to get away by turning on cloak while I'm shooting at them.

I think that armor mode is useless.
It barely protects you from the headshots, and Crysis 2 is famous by his utterly lucky headshots spraying bullets everywhere without aiming.

Bad hit detection is bad.

always remember, armor mode means nothing if you get hit first!. you have to turn the stupid thing on before you start getting shot. nanny suit 2 svcks a55.

LOL that's a lie. Maybe if they're already in armour before they even hit you; because latency means you won't even know you're being hit until you're nearly dead, but face to face I've equipped armour late and won gunfights plenty of times.

Armor mode is useful, but only at improved level two or three. You get some real basic protection at one, it's better than nothing really.
