One time a Ceph like tried to dodge a melee or something, I dunno, some sort of animation, and he phased through a wall. Going through the wall killed him and launched his corpse a good 15-20 feet into the air behind me. That's more an example of buggy, not stupid, though (which they still are...) but it was still very funny.

Question.

Can they patch the AI?

I'm not talking about glitches. I'm talking about routines where soldiers/aliens should act like they are trying to adjust to what the player is doing.

Yes they can. And it wouldn't need to be big either.

I have already replied to that in the thread in the PS3 forums:

http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=20624&start=10

1.) They can increase the resolution if they decrease the other visual settings. But then people will get pissed that the game doesn't look as great as advertised, and people will still be pissed off. If they increase the resolution without turning down the graphical settings, then enjoy playing it at slideshow speeds.

2.) You are somehow under the impression that the Cell can do the majority of all the things a GPU normally does and then just send it to the GPU. While the Cell was originally intended to do that, it is not set-up to work that way in the final PS3.

I don't know why it is you have this vendetta against me and are seeking out my posts and bashing what I say. From what you have written, you sound like a PS3 fanboy who believes the PS3 is alot better than it is and will attack everyone who says otherwise.

*************EDIT*************************

Sorry about the last paragraph. I was running on no sleep when I wrote it and at the time it seemed like this guy had it out for me.

One time, I was in a fire fight with CELL and one soldier was right next to me, like he was on my side. When I turned to him, he tried to fire, but my buckshot stopped that. It's was dumb.

Thanks for the reply.

I hope you're right. I've stopped playing the single player (right after Dead Man Walking) until I upgrade my GPU. I'm hoping that by then (late summer) they'll have also addressed certain issues with the PC version of the game.

Great game...but the AI needs to be much better.
