all of a sudden used 100% cpu usage

Playing normally and it was running at 56 ish % and the map changed and all of a sudden i cant play becuase my fps is down the drain and it is using 100% of my cpu power, any help?

Same thing. Jumps to 100% CPU usage up from 20%-something (3.6ghz i7 920), and the GPU usage goes down to 0% (down from 99%). This results in 0fps, and basically a system crash.

Exact same thing has been happening to me. I run a GTX 260 and i3 540. In the middle of a game it will sort of freeze up, then come back and I'll have frame rates <10. Its really annoying and the only way i have fixed it is a system restart.

I have the exact same issue. 2 GTX 260s in SLI and the game freezes and fps drops to <10

I had this issue too with GTX260 SLI. I saw that he thing it does is crashing the video drivers :(
My core GPU frequency goes from 700MHz to 400MHz...
no idea why
I saw that using EVGA Precision with my G15 LCD.

And yes I saw the prev post saying that SLI is messed up but it happened too when it was disabled.
