Does anybody know what this is?
What I know so far:
- It is not a fault with my PC. I am using an i7 950 3.08Ghz, Gtx 580, 8 GB RAM, windows 7 64bit updated with the latest patch and the latest drivers for my graphics card (i have also tried several other older drivers but the problem persists). The game is played at 1920x1080. I never get less than 60fps with vsync on and there is no cpu spike or any other changes when such a freeze occurs.
I have tried fullscreen and windowed mode with taskmanager open as well, as I know this solved a freezing issue in the leaked beta. The problem persists.
-I am using a wireless internet connection, which I know caused issue with the Xbox 360 version of the game (with a similar type of freezing? Anybody can confirm?). I dont have the facilities to test a wired connection, so I cannot confirm whether or not this is causing the issue. It is worth noting I have no problem with any other game at all, none of the cod games, nor any other recent game e.g. bulletstorm, homefront, assassins creed brotherhood etc. They all run incredibly smooth.
- I have fraps running, usually not recording, although I did record that clip with it, but this makes no difference to the problem.
- I have noticed at primetime 4-6pm GMT there are more freezes, than in the morning or very late at night. This leads me to think this is a server/internet issue at Your end, not mine, and is a result of the way Gamespy deals with kills/deaths etc. A lot of freezes seem to occur upon dying, like the internet is trying to catch up with what just happened. It is very strange as usually I have very good pings (10-60 in most servers I play in).
- The problem was also in the demo of the game.
I am desperate for help on this, as its driving me crazy. Will it be fixed in patch 1.2?
