This game is easily one of the best looking games on the PC atm. How exactly can you say the graphics are bad? Maybe your PC is bad?

Even on the max settings, crysis 1 still looks better overall. The look of the graphics in crysis 2 arent as refined for some reason.

This game is easily one of the best looking games on the PC atm. How exactly can you say the graphics are bad? Maybe your PC is bad?

Either you're blind or ignorant. Let me educate you...

- The game is DX9. Even if it would look exactly the same using DX11 renderer, it would run significantly faster.
- The textures are half the resolution of what Crysis 1 offered to us years ago.
- All objects have standard flat textures. They didn't even bother to use parallax mapping we could witness in Crysis 1 years ago. All textures are flat. Rocks are flat texture, bricks walls are flat textures, gravel is flat texture, concrete is a flat texture, mud is a flat texture. It all consists of flat textures without a single evidence of bump mapping. Something games on PC were using for like a decade.
- Water. It sort of looks ok from a distance until a soldier runs over it. Then you'll see water splashes that are exactly the same as those in Unreal Tournament 99 released back in 1999. And these splashes are just added on top of completely static water surface. It doesn't even react to player movement. TES:Morrowind with DX8.1 engine rendered trillion light years better water in 2002 than this pile of overrated crap. It even created a water ripple according to player or NPC movement. In 2002!
- Physics don't even exist. All the world destruction is pre-scripted, ragdolls are pathetic. Soldiers just fall down and you can't move them even for a millimeter from that point on. Only thing that you can actually move are some stupid barrels no one cares about. Half-Life 2 and Max Payne 2, 7 years ago had far far far more dynamic worlds on like 5 times weaker hardware. There is just no excuse for this.
- Ai is retarded and the least challenging. Even playing on Post Human like i am doesn't improve things. Soldiers and aliens just either stand like morons till you gun them down or they jumpa round like retards untill you do the same like in first case. Half-Life 1 commandos back in 1998 were far more sophisticated. They even know how to use freakin grenades. When was the last time anyone in Crysis 2 tried to flush you out with a grenade? I have yet to witness that. In Half-Life 1 it happened as soon as i tried to hide somewhere out of their sight.
- Also one of the worst things is that game doesn't feel open and green. You can stand in a park full of vegetation and you don't have the feeling of standing in nature. The narrow POV makes things worse and all the bushes feel like just another green object.
- the game is plagued with bugs on all ends and they prefer to fix and add some stupid stuff one one cares about

Enough?

I got a quote for you.
Crysis 2 will be a change of pace for console gaming, pushing the bar higher and the expectations, hopefully it delivers on game-play and story plus, not only that, but open more windows into modding options since you can do mapping for PC and port it to 360 and PS3.

Which could open a door to MechWarrior: Living Legends for a multi-platform modification.

A little birdie over at the SandCrawler site known for modding Star Wars: Republic Commando which have now expanded their repertoire to modding Killing Floor. If your interested in trying out Killing Floor you can pre-download it today either by clicking the link or downloading it directly through steam to play it Thursday.

On another note: five days ago, one of the Crydev's released a video pertaining to CryEngine 3.

Granted this does not pertain to Crysis 2 in any way, it does show what we can expect for the PS3 and Xbox 360, if you ask me, this shows that consoles are going to become known as: borderline PC, but again PC will always remain dominant.
Image
In this video they mainly show what the CryEngine 3 is capable of and what we can expect for the console gaming aspect.

I love the first comment on that article:

Crytek has betrayed those who have made their games great. The PC players!

Yeah. The people who actually worked on the game had nothing at all to do with how great their games are... that they worked on.

Quite frankly, I dont really care how good I can set my graphics settings (albeit how limited they currently are on the PC version) with the best processor, a sh*t load of RAM, and the "most fastest graphics card on earth"** when it flickers so much to the point of a potential stroke after two patches.

Im both the accountant and head of conceirge services for a villa belonging to one of the world's most richest person. I wasnt chosen for the position because I could **** my way though life but because I could get results.

This game makes me **** sick. As a company, Crytek makes me **** sick.

2 years down the line the engine will probably offer us PC gamers examples that we need to demonstrate to the console gamers that they are still living in 2005.

They probably wont like it. But for now, I dont care about the close combat environments, the limited graphics system or even the potential DX11 support (***at some point in the near future when maybe, maybe, maybe, Crytek will agree too it...albeit after numerous virgin child sacrfices), all i **** care about is the dual GPU flickering.....could you PLEASE **** PATCH THIS ****?!

oh wait, steam already **** my arse (without the lube...otherwise it might have been fun!), so all i can ask is pretty please or...I...erm...might get angry and not purchase the last epsiode of Back to the Future for €10....

Perhaps you are retarded.

I am comparing the basic visual quality. It looks nice. None of the random nerd **** you wall of texted about.

If you honestly think the game looks crap. Perhaps you should visit your optician.

lol @aviyur: the use of the word nerd as a derogatory name when talking about graphics in a game like crysis 2 is rather pointless because unless you're five years old and you go: "ooh, pwetty cowwahs" then what rezjor said is fairly important.

I believe all of you guyz preaching crysis 1 is better are morons, vanilla crysis is crap, there is way better games than the graphics you people impose, and get your **** straight, im part of the crysis 1 community, i go by Dude, but the point is, crysis 2 is only bad for you losers with anything less of a 9800, and have to settle with dual cores, any other person with a decent rig has said, wow, great game, its pushing my multicores cpu to 100%, and my gpu, thats optimization, yes its not crysis 1, its crysis 2, and it was optimized, yes for consoles, but were as i got 60 fps on crysis on very high, i get 120 on crysis 2, and Dx11, is a suggested "free" bargain that is to improve image quality without pressuring your system to much

Sure the campaign was a bit of a let down but I think the visuals are, overall, better than Crysis 1.
