+1 for racing. Actually I think Splash Damage could make race gametype themselves: it's relatively easy and there is always huge appeal for racing/climbing maps.

I think racing isn't that good(maybe as a test of skill but still), but I'd have nothing against a "chase" gamemode like seen in the "cinematic trailer" where the character template "The Bug" was chased by "The Anger"(I think that's what they refered to the templates as on the site)
One team hunts down one person or multiple people constantly trying to get to an objective over long freerunning treks with chances for ambushes and holdups to stall the Attackers.
I'd like it.

my two cents

So from what the last few guys said I think it is agreed that there should be some kinda SDK.

Great, I'll go tell the Splash Damage folks that the decision has been made :P

Yeah without an SDK on par with the GECK, I'll have to pass on Brink and stick to the NV DLC's next year until the next big Bethesda game gets released. I love the idea of Brink, but as a dedicated modder the SDK/Modability is now a requirement for me when investing huge time into a video game.

Don't get me wrong I think Brink will be a Great video game, but without a comprehensive SDK it just doesn't hold appeal like New Vegas does. Lets hope we get a GECK for Brink!

First team to get to objective wins :P

And haevies and mediums, what do they do as long as the lights dash through the map?

No, I doubt there will be a SoftWARE Development Kit, since it is realy difficult to make the level balanced for all classes, body sizes, teams and so on... Next problem: Since BRINK is based on objective gameplay, you need an objective development kit also, or, at least, a pool of objectives to choose from.

Nods, that may be very true depending on how the engine is built. In my view the lack of an SDK seriously limits the longevity of the game, as it will get played-out and boring much faster if the modding community isn't putting new content up all the time. Look at Morrowwind and Oblivion - both games that would have faded long ago without an awesome editor and support for modders. Brink could and hopefully will still be a great game, but I've become one of the cast of hundreds that just can't stomach a game that I can't mod. WIth the quality of the GECK, we are now spoiled.

We'll see!

So first of Will their be any Community content, i haven't looked it up but I'm sure one of you info Nazi's know. (i know DLC is being discussed)

Secondly, this game will be run on Steam/VAC with dedicated servers.

So my question is will their be like in TF2 or CS:S a "hammer mod" basically a level designer.

Now i know Levels in this game have to be extremely intricate BUT some of the best maps for TF2 game out of the community like the Orange maps (originally from Day of Defeat). So do you think they will have community made maps that ppl can host on their own servers. Or will they Do Contests and take the best 2 or 3 and make missions and objectives for them.

Let me know what you guys think or any better ideas or thoughts you might have.

Hammer is for Source based game, Brink is not a Source game, thus no hammer.

The Editor used for Brink is EditWorld. They should release editing tools/SDK, since SD has has always had strong support for the community in the past - They themselves started as a mod team.

There should definetely be an SDK. Community content keep the game alive and vivid.

I think map making is possible, without the SMART system hindering the proces.
The SMART system is a part of the engine and automatically calculates if things are f.e. climbable or not.
Objectives/classes won't hinder either. (Someone mentioned this) There were A LOT of custom maps for ET which also had classes and objectives.

The only thing needed is a decent map designing tool, which shouldn't be that hard to make for bethesda/ Splash damage. Textures and stuff can be easily imported from the game itself.

mods add life and longevity to any game, so its never a downside to have it

that would be awesome, if there is even an sdk coming.
vehicles is something that is seen in most games in future and the last 2 yrs. the current story/environments don't support them.
most likely in B2?
full parkour s.m.a.r.t. maps would be a blast.
