Tired of People Comparing CE2 to CE3 at this Moment.

Post » Thu Dec 09, 2010 9:09 pm

First please excuse me as I'm going to go on a rant,
You guys that claim Ce3 is crap are idiots, you compare Ce2, to crysis 2, your freakin stupid if you do, crysis 2 was built on cryengine 3, and Crysis 2 does not represent texture quality or gameplay that Ce3 is capable of on the PC, these things can always be changed, the sad part Ce2 has peaked without mods, and unfortunately Vanilla Crysis is definitely not as good as Crysis 2, Cryengine 3 is superior to Ce2 in every way, except FoV, but can easily be altered with the insertion of a scroll bar, Ce3 uses Multicore rendering and pushes Gpu's to 100%, something Ce2 suffered greatly on, and I emphasize greatly, i have a quad core at 3.4, and 460's in sli, and my cpu never goes past 60%, and my gpu's are always at 60%, thats just crappy config, id like all you retards to hold on to your balls when CE3 comes out to the public, and still claim that its doing worse with the same island map loaded, well see who's the true successor. CE3 has the best lighting effects of any game, you people that cry at the moment have no multicores, or just crappy setups to begin with, i loved Crysis 2, I played it all the way through with 1920 and 100fps, sure the textures were less, but just wait until Crymod takes hold of Ce3

Those comparisons videos were done on consoles vs PC, really people? We compare the 2 now? Why not compare a N64 and a Ps3 while we are at it? lets do a PC vs PC, and bring CE2 to shame that it deserves

And another thing , you can run crysis on Max Settings with Dx9 enabled, the fualt is that Dx10 automaticly enables when you turn the high Settings on, There is NOTHING wrong with Dx9, there is however something wrong with no Dx11, but there is no real reason for you to complain over Dx9 vs Dx10

It's still a bit strange to launch your flagship title, known for it's benchmark quality, without pushing the full extent of the engine that you designed.

^This. The exact reason why the engine mysteriously decided to stop supporting DX11 without later improvements. It would be pretty embarrassing to have the first game made with a DX11 engine support only DX9.

Wait...

People Ce3 is pushing console boundaries, we'll see what it'll do on PC's soon, and when the Crymod community gets they're hands on Cryengine 3 its game over, Photo realism will be a definite guarantee, no one said we have to deal with buildings, and all of you who get that impression are even greater fools, there WILL be jungle maps. I'd like to see the bickering fools that claim Ce2 is best still stand firm aside there ignorance.

No one is saying that CE3 is WORSE then CE2. It is pretty much the same. The only major difference is coding and optimization. Sure, we see some better effects with things like lighting, but ONLY because consoles can handle it. You could recreate Crysis in it's entirety on CE3. Nothing would be gained except performance.

But when consoles come into the equation, everything changes. Textures must be resized to meet RAM requirements. Draw distances are shortened considerably. This you cannot deny. It has had an adverse effect on the PC version of the game.

I agree that when it is made available to Crymod, we will see some crazy ****. Bunch of talented people over there.

Look at the thread full of like 100 people claiming that Ce3 is crap a couple posts down. And the engine hasn't only been optimized, its a completely new engine, optimization is what warhead did to the original Crysis, but this is they're next "new" engine, things will not just be easily imported from the old Crysis, maybe not even compatible at all.

I am speaking for this thread. If you have a deal with the other ones, go post on them. There is no need to make a completely new one unless you have a different point to make.

It's the whole reason these forums are clogged up with so much crap.

Good point, at least the people in this thread seem to understand the reality of what Ce3 truly is.

you are a huge retard because you think crymod is going to get cryengine 3. No. you are getting a sandbox editor.

ce2 > ce3 anyways.

Did you ever stop to think that the reason people think CE3 svcks is because there flagship game that was supposed to display the engine in all its glory is a bugged out unimpressive visual/technical mess. While CE2 used a game that left everyone in amazement of how far technology has come.

Promoting a new engine with a game that has less features is probably not the best marketing idea, but heck what do I know. I'm only a former customer...
