Crytek - "PC gamers don't buy games enough

Post » Tue Mar 08, 2011 8:16 am

I can only imagine Crytek being lined up with the EA shotgun of death...

EA is toxic, they kill off every good thing it touches...

nope

Look at need for speed or Battlefield. Complain harder.

here we go:

EA also plans to move aggressively in the console space for both this generation and the next generation hardware. This isn't surprising given that EA-based console games accounted for 72-percent of its net revenues during the last reported quarter. According to this filing, PC games only generated 14-percent of its net revenue in the same quarter.

ahaha

classic cardstacking propaganda: they are talking about Q1 in the cited document
Q1
Games Skate? 3 Console
Green Day Rock Band? (1) Console
APB All Points Bulletin (1) PC
Sports 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa? Console Handheld/Mobile
Tiger Woods PGA TOUR? Online PC
Tiger Woods PGA TOUR? 11 Console

q1 has been terrible as APB is still in closed beta and TW TPGT O is f2p if i'm not mistaken, so yeah it wouldn't be much of a surprise if ad generated cash doesen't exactly exceed the box values sold of the console games.

so yes, 14% revenue from a single browser game doesn't look so bad.

that would be my guess. if a stockbroker wants to correct me, by all means do.

You're saying that we'd buy if they made proper games as in Crysis 2 svcks? So they made Crysis 2 multiplatform because the PC gamers didn't support it financially?

Chronology..

If they think PC is not a big enough market, they had to establish such assumption based on the sales of Crysis 1 which:
-Was a great game. No reason not to buy it.
...but...
-Was very much pirated.

Crysis 2 could be a whole different experience if everyone who played Crysis 1 actually bought it.
Piracy's a bich.

PC gamers also own Xbox's and PS3's
because we are Gamers.

We bought Crysis 2 for the PC because we wanted
the best game on the best hardware.

What we got was a game that should have never
had a PC version.

If the gamers would have bought only the Xbox,PS3 Version
all would have been ok.

Now because of all this many PC Gamers will not
buy Crytek Kingdoms for the Xbox
