didn't find this issue elsewhere, so I post it here.

Got the Limited Edition (german) and gameplay starts fine with 30 - 35 fps. After about 10 minutes, the game starts jerking and drops to 3-4 fps. This situation remains for about 20 seconds, then the system returns to 30 - 35 fps again. After that, every 3-5 minutes, the problem occurs again. I didn'check if MP behaves the same.

There is no HDD activity at this time, no game saving, no heavy duty process in the background, no temperature issue. I play a lot of 3D games (shooter, RPG, etc) and never experienced such behaviour before. The only game, that also had similar fps drops as Crysis 2 was Crysis Warhead.

Has anybody any hint for me?

System is Core2Duo @ 2,53 GHz, NVidia Geforce GTX260M (driver 266.58), Vista64, 6 GB Ram, HDD defragmented, background processes reduced to the nessessary (no toolbar i.e.), DirectX up to date.

Game running @ native 1440x900

Already excluded game from Anti Virus Guard/Scan thingy? Defragmented already?
Please don't be offended if you already did these obvious things. I had this issue with another game, could never fix it thou, so:

*bumped* I guess

the slowness could be your cpu or gpu throttling proformance to avoid damage to them try running hwmonitor in the background then a few mins after it gets laggy leave game and see what hw monitor says about the temps.
